Not that anyone will believe it but GA changed their mind late yesterday. They were going to ask for reinstatement but went conservative and he will now play Fla. I st like dawgs in this spot against Arkansas.

Man, that response above is about as dumb as it gets. "THEY" were gonna ask for "reinstatement" but "GA changed their mind." Jesus, the suspension was by Georgia for Christ's sake. So the guys that suspended him were gonna ask themselves for reinstatement??? You ever played college ball? I have, and it doesn't work that way. Give that song and dance to some forum that gives a shit.

I'm old too. But I'm not quite to the stage where I'm walking around in plaid bermuda shorts with sandles and black socks, complemented by my rubber squeeze coin purse and my 1975 OU National Championship coffee mug......
I'm a Colorado Buffalo actually worked for Crowder (gopher) when he had some pretty good teams in the late sixties. Best perk was that I got to eat dinner at training tables.

You sir are clueless....The assumption is that when they present the findings of the investigation to the NCAA, the NCAA would agree that UGA’s actions were appropriate punishment for the crime.

If UGA were to allow Gurley to keep playing during their investigation (after they learned about the allegations), then not only could Gurley be suspended when the investigation is complete, but UGA would also be forced to vacate any wins in which Gurley played between the time that they found out about the allegations and the time that the NCAA ruled on the investigation.

Also, if you don’t cooperate with the NCAA and you lose in the subsequent investigation, you get punished more severely than you would otherwise. Southern Cal and Georgia Tech are two examples of this policy. Of course, if you "beat" the NCAA, you get off scot-free, so it’s a calculated gamble if you just close your eyes and go "all in.

How does the old saying go, "if you remember the 60's you probably weren't there." I vaguely remember the 60's. Loved Eddie Crowder. He's the one who started it all playing QB on OU's first national championship team back in the 50's and going on to coach under Bud Wilkinson. He was a good ole okie through and through. He also had a lot of influence in hiring Bob Stoops...

Tmader. I copied the rules from the ncaa so you can educate yourself

The NCAA student-athlete reinstatement process provides for the evaluation of institutional self- reports submitted on behalf of student-athletes/prospective student-athletes who have been involved in a violation of NCAA regulations that affect their eligibility in order to assess the student-athlete(s)’/prospective student-athlete(s)’ responsibility and to determine appropriate conditions for reinstatement of eligibility. This process also provides for a review of institutional requests for various waivers for which the NCAA Divisions I, II and III Committees on Student- Athlete Reinstatement have the authority to act. Decisions for both reinstatement requests and other waiver requests are based on national standards established by the membership, the NCAA Division I Legislative Council, NCAA Divisions II and III Management Councils and the student-athlete reinstatement committees, and are applied by the NCAA student-athlete reinstatement staff.
Initial Staff Decision – Reinstatement Requests
1. When a NCAA member institution determines that a prospective or enrolled student- athlete has been involved in a violation of NCAA rules, it is obligated under NCAA Division I Bylaw 12.11.1, NCAA Division II Bylaw 14.11.1 and NCAA Division III Bylaw 14.9.1 to declare the individual ineligible and withhold the student-athlete from all intercollegiate competition. The student-athlete reinstatement committees process reinstatement requests for violations of Bylaw 10 (ethical conduct), Bylaw 12 (Division I amateurism and athletics eligibility; Division II and III amateurism), Bylaw 13 (recruiting), Bylaw 14 (Division I eligibility: athletics and general requirements; Division II and III eligibility), Bylaw 15 (financial aid), Bylaw 16 (extra benefits), Bylaw 17 (Division I outside competition) and Bylaw 18 (drug testing). If necessary, an institution should contact the NCAA academic and membership affairs staff to obtai

Living close to Little Rock, which is where War memorial is, I promise crowd is a factor. Also tmader, congrats on being magnum cum laude at Vandy. And did u happen to play with steven stone?
