indianapolis could easily be 4-9 this year.
there is such a fine line between winning and losing in this league its not even funny.

# of games indianapolis has won by more than a TD this year?
its amazing theyre even in the playoff hunt.

laying -500 with them would be silly let alone the current price.

outcome is immaterial. this team isnt very good.

Well, I can place the bet without putting up the cash. Was thinking of risking $8000 to win $500 (-1600 ML). Scary shit to say the least. If Indy were to lose, I would be divorced by next Wednesday, which happens to be collection day.

i am throwing indy onto all 3 parlays i am doing this weekend just to squeeze a little extra cash out of them but any bet on this game cannot include the indy ML. on top of the games mentioned in a prior post i can add the raiders beating the jets, the bengals tying the eagles off the top of my head. last year appalachian state beating michigan, stanford beating USC as 41 point underdogs.

that said i think this game is a far wider gap in terms of the favorite / underdog but there is a reason sportsbooks offer these bets. detroit is also a professional football team and on any day a player ( s ) can show up and go off in a totally unforeseeable manner. every player in the nfl has talent and every team regardless of how they execute in the other 15 games of the year can come together, get 1 or 2 bounces and pull it out. look at the bears - saints game thursday and 2 LONG pass int calls that handed the bears a game they maybe didnt deserve.

odds are that 1 time out of the 16 that you bet that 1600 to win 100, your gonna lose. probably 2 or 3 times given the way parity seems to be sweeping across pro sports. crazy stuff happens and they only have to get you once in 16 tries. it likely wont be in this game but betting massive favs is never a sound strategy in the long run.

Thanks for the input. I am not going to take the risk. Anything can happen and I might go into a coronary should the game be remotely close in the 4th quarter.

Definately not worth the risk.. Indy is not the same Indy they couldnt score one offensive TD against the Browns. And if it werent for a fortunate defensive TD, they would have lost straight up so..

My friend when Det hit the 2pt'r for the tie, I thought about your post.

I hope you decided not to play that bet.

Ind wins, but not before graying your hair some. Oh, and this ought to show you who's the key guy in indy's def. No Sanders.....no cover
