I liked this game too.. MASS should get rolled.
If you havent played it yet, a possible tropical storm is coming through late thursday and on into Friday..... Could get wet around here. People panic when we get them, they are nothing more than a huge rain storm really.. But we have folks buying water and stuff its like please.. I will most likely be in my pool ...but it can lay down a ton of rain. It should be gone by Saturday but might leave the field quite muddy.. and not the typical fast track that the Swamp provides....
Just wanted to let you know.
BOL BROTHER !!!
Thanks, but the bet's already been placed, and I'm not really worried if the field is a "fast track" at the Swamp or not. It could be a mud bowl for all I care.
This will be a BLOW OUT!
I look at the disparity in talent (especially in skill positions and defense) and the caliber of the athletes these two football programs possess. Night and day IMO.
Minutemen return less of last year's production than any team in the FBS from 19 returning starters in 2015 to a mere 9 in 2016, and this is
NOT a good sign for a program transitioning out of the MAC and into the land of Independents.
UMASS JUCO QB Andrew Ford, a former 3 star recruit with Virginia Tech, is expected to replace departed signal-caller Blake Frohnapfel. He'll be leading a suspect
offense against a Gators defense that looks like one of the best in the country, led by DT Caleb Brantley and a 10-deep defensive line loaded with 5 and 4 star talent.
Granted, the Gators will be breaking in a new QB in Luke Del Rio, but I expect then to pound the rock behind a mammoth offensive line and then open it up with "safe"
passes to give the kid confidence. The Florida WRs and RBs, who are 5 and 4 star recruits and fast as shit, will be catching the ball will indeed be getting huge chunks
of yards in the all important YAC. I just don't see the UMASS defense being able to contain these skill players the Gators have on offense.
UMASS was blown out at Colorado last year by 34 (48-14) and at Notre Dame by 35 (62-27) with the aforementioned 19 returning starters, including a seasoned QB Blake Frohnapfel.
Now they face a fired up hungry Gator team (with a tough as nails defense) with an inexperienced QB?
UMASS also brings some awful ATS numbers into this mismatch, going 3-8 ATS the last 11 games as road dogs of more than 24 points, and 0-18 SU (2-7 ATS) in non-conference
road games -
with the last 9 losses coming by an average of of 35.1 points! Conversely, Gators are 8-2 ATS last 10 as favorites of 31 or more points.
Florida won it's season home openers the last two years in blowout fashion. In 2014, the blew out Eastern Michigan 65-0. Last year, in 2015, they blew out New Mexico State 61-13.
I expect this to be a similar beat-down, and I expect the score to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 58-13. It could very well be 49-0 as well.
This is just a payday for UMASS.
UMASS head coach Mark Whipple would gladly trade places with Mr. Whipple from the Charmin commercials because the only things that are going to get squeezed Saturday night at the Swamp
will be those poor kids wearing Minutemen uniforms! :lolBIG:
Good luck to all those backing UMASS +36 in this contest. IMO, you'll be sorely disappointed.
