by the way getting a hoot outta the "conservatives" trying to give obama shit for his stand off approach to the situation to date

smart move by obama....

i'm not obama fan overall but just find the state of the "conservative" party comedy at this point

also hearing alot of whining from the hope and change crowd about him not saying anything....at the same time.....i disagree with obama on alot of shit but this situation so far handled well IMO

taking a side and supporting them is a good way to whip the Ahmindijad and Khamini supporters into a anti-US frenzy and allow the oppressive regime's grip to tighten

Iran already trying to say we the US getting involved and such....granted via twitter and such we are but as individuals

will be interesting to see how this plays out long term seems like this ain't going away anytime soon

and i'm loving the protestors taking the gandhi approach....big rally today and so silent and when military came they all sat down....

Glad you can recognize that. I'm an Obama fan but will admit there are things I can see criticizing him over, this is not one of them. He's handling this well. Those getting on him about this are the same people that will get on him about anything he does for the next 7 years.

yeah if duyba was still in there he'd be yelling those evil thugs oppressin those people

and than Ajjadfj(i have no clue how to spell it and too lazy to look it up) will get on TV and rally the anti-US sentiment that is in that country and the people protesting will be jailed or killed....revolution cancelled......and the noose tightens

the "conservative" approach to this situation is exactly what obama is doing

NOTHING

revolutions aren't bloodless and you gotta let people handle their own shit....we wouldn't have what we have today if not for the massive amount of blood spilt by our forefathers fighting oppression

in other news obama wants to give the fed more power...so add that to the list of shit i hate about him LOL

speaking of riling up anti-protestor sentiment seems like the strategy for now is to break a bunch of shit and blame it on the protestors ("rioters") hopefully they slowly see through the propaganda

thanks for the huffpost blog betit really good

-----------------------------------------

10:06 PM ET -- "Why would our kids break our cars?" Just after finishing the note directly below, I received this email from reader Keivan -- one sign, at least, of people seeing through the "rioter" PR strategy:

this is a video that show the aftermath of security forces breaking into a residential parking. the camera man keeps asking the women who did this, and she explains that it was the special security forces. he asks "so it wasn't the protesters?" she explains why would our kids break our cars? she says at least 3 or 4 times that it was the security force that broke in and smashed all the windows.

this happened in saadat abad, which is north east of tehran, I grow up in that neighberhood!

well things heating up.....not a whole lot of details yet....other than heavy police presence and some clashes

and if i had to guess the government did the following to make the protesters look bad

CNN reporting that the explosion was at the Imam Khomeini Mausoleum
