Tipping big usually gets you excellent service...also gets you into some venues that are hard to crash...people who rely on tips usually tip well...

It's virtually impossible to "overtip".

Christ on a crutch, too many people squeeze five to ten dollars as if it's the only bill between them and financial ruin.

If they lost that same five or ten dollars on the casino floor for a single spin or single hand they would think, "No problem".

But have them accidentally slip it into the limo driver tip and they moan for hours about how they "blew it".

the whole "the more you tip the better service you get" is kinda bullshit. especially for a limo. is he gonna have his wife blow you in the back seat? its a ride somewhere. not to mention you give him the tip at the END of your ride. you get the same service for whatever you tip him.

i guess i just dont see how anyone can justify a $50 tip. that being said i would probably trow him a $20....maybe $15.

Wait a minute. If people tip this much, why isnt everyone driving a limo? By the numbers I see, the average limo driver should be making over 100K a year. Is this the case??? If so I am moving to Vegas to drive a limo.

Limo drivers don't make the big bucks on excursions to and from the airport....talking about excursions to and from clubs and strip joints...and the limo guys have connections...

The limo drivers that pick you up for the airport do a lot of waiting around for you to get your luggage etc.. They have to stand there looking silly holding a sign with your name on it, and they risk those nasty disc herniations by taking your luggage off the carousel.

If casino is comping the limo, I tip at least the same as it would cost to take a cab from the airport. Depends on the amount of time they wait for you ....MINIMUM of $20.00.

Wow, I've always considered myself a pretty generous tipper, but I don't come close to giving the cab driver that much money.

$ 50?

$ 20 per person?

does anybody else give that kind of money?

On a $ 12 fair, I'll give the guy a total of $ 15
on a $20 fair, I'll pay $25

so my tips would be $3 to $5 dollars (maybe I'm cheap with respect to Taxi drivers)

No Willie this is the monthly thread where its all talk and all bullshit. Most here are just degenerates that would raid thier grandma'a change jar to get a bet down.

You guys must feel good about being big tippers.

The thread was about limo drivers, not cab drivers.

In this economy the Limo Drivers are lucky to have a job. Give then the standard 15%. It's not like they are driving you 20 miles from the airport to the casinos.

I'm referring to the limos sent by the casino. They have to wait for you if your plane is late (although usually they call though to make sure the flight is on time) and again, they take care of your luggage. That's the difference I guess. Btw, I'm not new here. I am well aware of those who like to talk it up...but I don't think $20 is an unreasonable tip for a limo driver.....especially if you are getting it comped. That's about the same price as a cab all things considered.
