Breaking Bad best show ever followed closely by The Sopranos. Game of Thrones a distant third helped by abundant T & A. IMO of course

I may have to check out game of thrones since out top two shows all time are identical.

I watched like 1st 15-20 mins of GoT one day and I was just like ehh can't get into this right now. Not saying it isn't a good show but it just wasn't doing it for me. I dunno the Midieval stuff just doesn't do it for me but I'm sure I'll give it another try eventually.

Watched season 1 of the sopranos and was not blown away. I did not hate it but season 1 was not good enough to make me go out of my way to watch the rest of the series.

Especially considering the fact(from what I heard) season 1 was the best if all the seasons in the series

Medieval times stuff is not my cup of tea at all either. However my two favorite shows all time are identical with mr jones so it seems plausible that I would enjoy game of thrones. All the great shows all time on AMC HBO SHOWTIME if our two top shows are identical I figure is should at least give game of thrones a shot. As far as quitting in 20 minutes that's way too soon. Remember many shows early were mediocre or average. Look at shows like Seinfeld and even to some extent the sopranos they started off average and became epic. My rule of thumb is you can't give up on a show in 15-20 minutes unless Gilbert Gottfried makes an appearance.

hmm...never felt like Season 1 was the best....I thought season 1-5 were all good, around season 6 it started to slip a little.

Gotta keep in mind this show started in 1999 before TV drama got really smart, so really it was the first show of its kind in terms of the continuing storyline on premium television format.

I dunno, it is pretty awesome.

Yeah I know 20 mins is too soon but keep in mind its like 50 eps at this point. So it was more of "I don't feel like beginning this quest to watch 50 eps of this show right now, wanna watch something else" rather than just being done with the show.

I was just typing how sopranos was average/mediocre season 1 while you posted this comment. Anyone telling you season one was the best is insane. You should give it another look, sopranos year 1 is not 1/2 as good as later years and not 1/5 as good as sopranos at its best.

Maybe I will give season 2 a shot but it's been so long I would probably have to start over on season 1.
I did not hate it. Just did not like it enough to force me to watch the rest like 24, lost, and BB

Yeah it was still feeling itself out at that point. I always remember thinking 3 and 5 were the best seasons.
4 was good too but that was more about his family than mob a lot of it.

The thing with Sopranos is the storyline isn't as rich as something like Breaking Bad, it just isn't that type of show with an overarching storyline and a huge payoff at the end. Its richness comes in the characters and ongoing themes of the show like the mob, family, American life, etc....This is what makes it so rewatchable compared to a show like BB where so much of the show is about finding out what happens next.

Yea that's what I was told. That certainly played a role in me not watching the rest. Ok I will put it on the to do list.

Very well said. Shockingly well written coming from a Pats fan LOL

Can confirm Deadwood a great show. It takes 4-5 eps to get into as it starts really slow. You can't binge watch it at all, I'd watch an ep here and there because the dialogue is so unique and the pace is really methodical its just tough to watch multiple eps at once.

Definitely would recommend people watch this show after seeing season 1...

Deadwood was my personal favorite followed closely by Boardwalk Empire.....currently watching The Killing heading to season 3 on flix. Not one of my favorites by any stretch.

Couple others that are going on that I like a lot as well....

I watched Malcom in the Middle a few years back on Netflix and it was pretty darn good overall for a comedy. Shot with 1 camera I believe and Bryan Cranston as the father really makes this show in my opinion. Incredible acting job actually better than Breaking Bad.
