President Trump on Friday broke with health experts, telling reporters that the coronavirus will “go away without a vaccine.”
“This is going to go away without a vaccine, it’s gonna go away, and we’re not going to see it again, hopefully, after a period of time,” Trump said at the White House. “You may have some flare-ups, and I guess I would expect that.”
Asked what led him to believe that the virus would disappear without a vaccine, Trump claimed he had received that information from medical professionals.
“I just rely on what doctors say. They say it’s going to go. That doesn’t mean this year. It doesn’t mean, frankly, it’s going to be gone before the fall or after the fall, but eventually it’s going to go away. The question is whether we will need a vaccine. A former San Francisco city supervisor responded Friday to reports that alcohol and other addictive substances are being provided to homeless people who are being kept in California hotels in an effort to stem the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
Joe Alioto told "Tucker Carlson Tonight" that it is wrong for the government to "feed the addiction" of a "vulnerable population," but added that officials aren't using taxpayer dollars to do so.
"[That] begs the question -- where is this money coming from?" Alioto asked. "If the reason we are not using taxpayer dollars is because it would otherwise not be legal to do? We know that's true on the federal level anyway," Alioto said.
"The idea that the government can poison a few people for the good of the many is immoral. This has been debated over years, it’s unconstitutional [and] very un-American for that matter."
"We should be feeding their stomachs, not their addictions," he said. "I guess they feel as though the rest of us can fend for ourselves, I think the real concern here by the Department of Health is, to give them a little bit of credit, they don’t want to spread the COVID disease... [But] some of these homeless people who are being housed in the hotels specific to this program -- that are getting methadone, marijuana, alcohol, some of them are not even COVID positive, but what they are trying to do is force them into self-isolation by feeding these addictions."

Governor Sisolak is either in extreme denial over his immense unpopularity and attempted recall…or blatantly lying to the people to save face.
According to FOX 5 News, Sisolak made a statement about the recent Carson City protest against him, excusing them away as being outsiders to the state.
In a video from the same speech it’s revealed that he also excused protestors away as “isolated extremist.”

At the time of publication, New Zealand had recorded fewer than 1500 confirmed cases of COVID-19, and 20 deaths. On March 23, a month after the country had recorded its first case, New Zealand committed to an elimination strategy. A few days later, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern announced a strict national lockdown when it only had 102 cases and zero deaths. Her swift decision making won international praise, including from WHO.
New Zealand's decision to pursue an elimination approach was a vastly different approach to usual pandemic planning, which has historically been based on a mitigation model and focuses on delaying the arrival of the virus, followed by a range of measures to flatten the curve of cases and deaths.
Michael Baker, professor at the University of Otago's department of public health in Wellington, who has been advising the New Zealand Government on its response, said implementing a full lockdown—involving the closure of schools and non-essential workplaces, a ban on social gatherings, and severe travel restrictions—enabled the country to consider elimination. “I think it was the right decision; we had to go hard”, he said.
“The two biggest benefits of pursuing an elimination strategy is that you have few cases and few deaths and you can get business back up and running. The alternative was that we are stuck with the virus and stuck between mitigation and suppression. Suppression is pretty grim.”
While the strategy has had its critics, for Baker, the evidence was overwhelming that elimination could be achieved.
