He then makes an inference that these folks are smart because lots of then voted for Trump instead.

THAT EVERYONE ELSE GET IT TOO.
In essence what this implies is this:

The judges are telling them, "TIME IS UP. You've been holding these people already for 6 months, some of them longer. You don't arrest somebody and then try to build your case against them if you've charged them with a felony offense."
So the prosecutors realize their chances of getting a conviction on a felony are very slim considering they still haven't even built a case.
Therefore, they are now starting to offer plea deals to the detainees.
"We'll drop the felony charge if you agree to plead guilty to this misdemeanor and you'll be sentenced to either time already served or just an additional few months."
By doing this the DOJ prosecutors and their fake news networks can try to present to the public as a "win", as if people were actually prosecuted.
However, this is the furthest from the truth.
The detainees are being given credit for the time served and, therefore, a misdemeanor plea makes sense and is a quick and simple solution for all of them.
Wouldn't surprise me to see a nice little class action lawsuit from the detainees when it's all over.
Seems appropriate considering the inhumane treatment they received during their time in jail.
