The reality of the situation is that if he did challenge Trump for the nomination, imo he could very well get it for lots
of reasons including his age and overall likability and because unlike Trump he has no baggage!!
I would even go so far as to say that if Biden is the nominee for the Democrats and if things don't get appreciably better, Carlson
could win which will never happen with Trump!!

The funny thing is that if Carlson did announce his candidacy, unlike as is the case with DeSantis, Trump couldn't
call him a traitor, and if he said anything at all negative about his entering the race, if anything it would take away support
for himself and instead, it would be given to Carlson!!
Imo for those Republicans who have huge concerns about Trump and to a lesser extent DeSantis, Carlson would be a very
good compromise candidate.

Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Tuesday attempted to walk back his private text messages saying that he was fed up with then-President Donald Trump after the 2020 election, which were revealed in documents this month as part of a $1.6 billion Dominion Voting Systems defamation suit against the network.
During an appearance on WABC radio, Carlson said he was “enraged” that his private texts were revealed.
“And I think this is in the text, and those were all grabbed completely illegitimately, in my opinion, in this court case, which I guess I’m not allowed to talk about, but I’m enraged that my private texts were pulled,” he said.
“We are very, very close to being able to ignore Trump most nights. I truly can’t wait,” he texted an unidentified person.
“I hate him passionately. ... I can’t handle much more of this,” he added.

(But in a press release, Fox publicly “acknowledged” that the judge in that case had concluded that all 20 on-air statements that Dominion sued over were false.)
Connolly said Smartmatic is “looking to take this case through trial” and wants “the vindication of a jury verdict in their favor.” But if there were to be an out-of-court settlement, the deal would need to include the retraction plus a payout larger than the massive sum that Dominion got.
