By blasting Trump publicly, Pence accomplishes two things:
1) He is not scared or intimidated by Trump at this juncture nor should he be!!
2) When other people/candidates who have not spoken out much if at all against Trump, will now have some added confidence
because Pence has done so!!
It is possible that Pence by taking the lead could cause lead to a snowball effect that could quicken his politicsl demise
which is already underway!!
