Minnesota Freedom Fund Reveals Only $200,000 of Millions in Donations Has Been Spent to Bail Out Protesters

The Minnesota Freedom Fund (MFF) faced a social media backlash after it revealed on Twitter that it has spent around $200,000 to bail out protesters—despite receiving millions in donations in recent weeks.
Many said that MFF had collected $35 million in donations in recent weeks and spent only a small fraction, prompting "35 MILLION" and "only 200k" to start trending on Twitter.
It's not clear exactly how much the fund has raised since protests began, but on the Frequently Asked Questions section of the MFF website, updated earlier this month, it said that more than $30 million had been donated to the fund in the wake of Floyd's death.

Pence Says Officials Looking at Other Venues for Trump Tulsa Rally - OVER 1 MILLION TICKET REQUESTS
Officials are considering other venues in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for President Donald Trump’s first campaign rally since the CCP virus shutdown, Vice President Mike Pence said on Tuesday. A Trump campaign official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said later the rally would be held at the BOK Center arena in Tulsa as planned, “but the campaign is also considering other areas adjacent to the arena to allow the president to address even more people.”
Pence acknowledged the health risks of bringing so many people together—the campaign said it had received more than 1 million ticket requests—during an interview with Fox News.
“It’s all a work in progress. We’ve had such an overwhelming response that we’re also looking at another venue. Ari Fleischer hits health officials for backing protests, but not other gatherings: 'A terrible injustice'
Former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer, a Fox News contributor, suggested sarcastically on "Hannity" Tuesday that the coronavirus shows deference to the ideology of those it may or may not choose to infect.
"What you’re missing," Fleischer told host Sean Hannity in reference to the mainstream media's criticism of President Trump's forthcoming rally in Tulsa and simultaneous praise of Black Lives Matter protests, "is the study of liberal public health administrators and scientists has shown that COVID knows the cause.
"And if the cause is good, COVID will go around it -- it won’t infiltrate it, it won't affect anybody -- but if the cause is bad, the virus knows it and it will just get those people," Fleischer said.
On a serious note, Fleischer added, "I hope people do stand back and realize the damage public health officials have done to themselves when they say certain protests are meritorious and we will not chide you for going out and violating social distancing, but we will if we don’t like your cause.
"This is a terrible injustice and it’s not what public health people should be doing."
He pointed to a rally for black transgender rights held last weekend at the Brooklyn Museum in New York. That protest passed off without public censure. However, on the same weekend, Gov. Andrew Cuomo, D-N.Y., warned smaller groups of Manhattanites gathering in the East Village: "Don't make me come down there."

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, said Tuesday that any abbreviated MLB season should end prior to October in order to keep the risks of coronavirus transmission low.
Fauci told the Los Angeles Times in a phone interview that he would “avoid” playing deeper into the year when the weather for much of the country turns colder.
“Even in warm weather, like in Arizona and California, we’re starting to see resurgences as we open up,” Fauci told the paper. “But I think the chances of there being less of an issue in the end of July and all of August and September are much, much better than if you go into October.”

Judge Denies Request to Block Trump Tulsa Rally Over COVID-19 Fears
The lawsuit said the prospect of assembling tens of thousands of shouting, chanting people inside an enclosed arena amounted to a “super-spreader” COVID-19 event in the making.
“As currently planned, the event will endanger not only the health of the guests in attendance and the plaintiffs, but the entire Tulsa community and any community to which the guests may afterward travel,” the lawsuit said.
However, judge Rebecca Nightingale denied the lawyers’ request for a temporary injunction against the company managing the venue.
BOK Center spokeswoman Meghan Blood told Politico in a statement that the venue was following state regulations for combating the CCP virus pandemic.
“Government officials have advised that the campaign rally as planned is consistent with the guidance for the OURS [Open Up & Recover Safely] plan for entertainment venues, however, in the event that the governing authorities impose new restrictions, we will notify the event organizers immediately,“ she said.
