This thread and for that matter this entire section of the forum/the Political Section could be so much better, so much more inspiring
challenging and overall so much more productive if there were some deep polite and respectful discussions and debates within
each thread, which in turn is currently dominated by name-calling and insults of each other!!
I am not perfect for sure, but at the very least within this thread at least( I haven't posted anywhere in the Political Section as promised
since the infamous day of Jan. 6, 2021) I have made some points and asked questions for clarity directed at either specific individuals
who posted something or in general.
With VERY rare exceptions, people have not responded to them one way or the other, which tells me a lot!!
As it stands now as I see it, this forum as was the case with the now defunct Rubber Room, is nothing but a free-for-all one where
the topics, random thoughts/posts just fly off into all directions like a piece of shattered glass and don't add to anything more
than stoking the ego of those who post them; that is further stoked when someone offers commentary to agree with
them, which is almost always overwhelming approval because this section of the forum by any criterion is dominated by Trump supporters
and/or just Republicans!!
I realize that it is totally unrealistic to set a goal of trying to emulate a forum such as Quora for lots of reasons, but
with that said, imo with the help of the moderators taking a more active role in the threads as well as posters trying to express
some intellect rather than just name-calling and insults for the most part, this forum could at least be considered a bit more
than its current status as a high school clique, which in turn would make it more credible and respected by others
who visit the forum including potential sponsors!!
