Max - you are correct for the most part. If a shop has it in their mind they are not going to do the right thing no one will make them do otherwise. We all saw that in the CRIS deal. Also it becomes harder to reach an agreement when the players runs to the forums with it before we can talk to the books and try and settle it. Not talking about Areef in this case but just generally speaking. Once you play your trumps what else is left to be done? Actually there are a lot of shops that would rather avoid all this but no amount of heat in the forums will force a book to do the right thing. In fact just the opposite can happen. They are people just like us and when backed in a corner often they will do the wrong thing just to show they weren't intimidated. As silly as it sounds it's true. Another time I had a book rep told me "looking back I think we made a mistake but I hate to fix it now and encourage other players to bash us like this in the forums".

Not defending books at all but they are people just like we are. They don't like to be threatened, intimidated or given ultimatems. I speak from experience when I say FAR more is done out of the public eye than will ever be resolved out in the forums. The key to all this for the player is you will always have this avenue to run to the forums at the end if you are not happy! Keep the option of bashing books in your back pocket and let the middle men see what they can do. As Max says it won't always work but you have lost nothing by trying.....

CBS could always become an advertiser here... then all these CBS bashing threads will disappear and no one will remember a thing come football season.

JJ Gold is the biggest noninformative poster out there. He always screams about strong books going under(NEVER has he been right) but never warns players about real stiff books like Bet Flamingo. Thanks for the misinformation as usual JJ.

just beacusae a book is still operational doesnt mean that they pay, I will stay away from books that are owned by perverts, homos, telemarketers, and money launderers. I know for a fact Mr Ashcroft has a division that will be putting handcuffs on lots of these notorious criminals in the very near future. I am very familiar with the Los Angelos Police Academy, and some officers with the LA county shreiffs department, and you can count on JUSTICE being served. Furthermore with the events that happend on September 11, 2001 and the American dollar struggling like it is, I guarantee you that there will be lots of extra funds that are available to the homeland security department. TERROISM isnt neccessarily a muslim blowing himself up, there is a form of econmoic terrorism.

Rail basically as soon as Ashcroft gives the word every book is done on the planet within 1 day.

D-Day is coming and coming very soon.

Keep balances very low because once US gov't closes every book down your balances are forfeited.

Betting with locals is your safest out right now or some credit books only.

Get out before you labeled a money launder

top 10 dumbest thread of the year.

Rail, it's probably not the best of ideas to threaten the entire forum.

So you're just a policeman in training or do you just drive by the academy like everyone else that's on the way to Dodger stadium?

CBS is going no where. I have looked around today and asked some questions and conclude that CBS is fine. Dave will settle up the dispute soon. Mistake if you will that should not have happened, but we all make mistakes. We do not see this typically about CBS. They will pay/make good and all will be good.

Shrink and McIrish, you really should think about posting a list of books owned by perverts, homos, telemarketers, and money launderers. Somehow I don't think a book's customer service rep would answer me if I asked "is your book owned by homos or perverts?"

Railbird gets turned on by men in uniform, especially if they have handcuffs.

Rail,

I'm curious how you justify you're gambling with your apparent hatred of the offshore books. Maybe it's the same way you profess to be a Christian and then call people scum. In other words, you may be the biggest hypocrite I've ever come accross besides being one of the biggest dipshits California has ever produced. Take your "inside info" in this case and stick it up one your police cadet buddie's ass while you're sucking him off. Have a nice day.

Tico Ashcroft can get every sportsbook on about 100 charges each. What is going to happen is USA (big brother) is going to issue warning letters to every offshore country that operates gambling betting sites and bascially say , stop taking USA customers or were coming in and then the countries will be scared shit an force offshore operators to ban us.

Tico it is going to happen and they will use terrorism (silly as it may sound) as the selling point.

Hey Tico get a local you are going to need it in the future.

max- Actually I think this forum is very influential in how a book decides whether to do the right thing or not. CRIS is still in business but they lost a lot of customers because they screwed people with their bonus program. As I have stated before, I wouldn't even offer bonuses if I was running an offshore book but that's just my opinion.

The CBS issue is a clear one. They screwed this guy and I'm glad he brought it to this forum. He didn't take a shot at them by taking +8 on a game that should have been -8. He played a price they posted and then they want to adjust that price after the match was over. This is clear burglary on their part and now they're paying for it. As they should.

The RX is clearly the most followed watchdog forum that there is out there. Any book that does what CBS did deserves all the negative publicity this forum can give them.

i highly doubt that the us is willing to go to war over sportsbooks. all of that crap in dc is about 18 year olds mommies finding out their gambling and writing a letter to their congressman. i worked for a senator in dc and hundreds of letters would come about sports gambling. and they all got the same vague responce in a form letter. "we will look into the problems and see if we can be of help." i signed them on the auto pen. the responce looked very similar to that of the parnoid people who wrote letters about ufo's, the fbi chasing them, having been abducted and studied by aliens. offshore gambling is not a major concern.
now yes they have many more tools at their desposal now after sept 11 but i don't see ashcroft standing in front of a mic calling out countries about gambling. its been around for centuries.
what after they knock off the sports books there going to go after prostitution the oldest profession in the world.

just my 4 cents

Soccerbob,

Reread my post. I didn't say this forum wasn't influential. What I said was that if a book doesn't want to pay then it won't. CRIS is a prime example of this. They were blasted in several forums for their poor behavior. And I agree that CBS should pay. But as far as CRIS losing a lot of customers I have to disagree with you. Ask around with your friends that gamble and see how many know about the RX.... friends that haven't told you or that you haven't told about this site. If CRIS lost 50 customers I would be amazed. Bottom line is that they take large wagers and they pay off. And don't think I'm a fan of CRIS, I'm not, trust me on this one. But like McIrish said earlier, if a book doesn't want to do the right thing then all of the bitching in these forums won't do a bit of good.
