Baseball is a tough sport. I handicap baseball, hoops, and football and baseball is by far the most time consuming of them all. The daily logging of information is an absolute grind. JBragg went on quite a heater to start the season, and it was unrealistic to expect that to continue. I don't care how good you are, everyone encounters a cold streak. Now, it manifests itself in different ways. Maybe you just were on the wrong side, or perhaps you are just the victim of terrible luck and circumstance. It happens to every last one of us. It is damn frustrating.
With the sheer volume of plays, it is imperative to keep a level head... You can't get too high when things are rolling, and you can't get down when you it a bump in the road. If you are unable to do this, then baseball is probably a sport that one should just not play.
JBragg, you've said that post All Star break has been good for you. Take a well deserved break, and perhaps we will see you after the All Star Game. Whatever you choose to do, look forward to your posts whenever you decide to return.

Thanks for everything JBragg. I don't post in your thread much, but I certainly look at it several times a week and respect your viewpoints a lot. I'm sad to see you go, but I can totally understand why. This past month has been absolutely brutal to me with the bad beats as well, but I do it for fun in addition to an investment, so if I quit I'll have to find a new hobby.
Screw all these people who are trying to tell you what to do. Quitting early with a profit is a hell of a lot better than chasing your recent losses, which is what most of these guys would do.

In the Movie "American Gangster", the Asian guy tells Denzel's Character "Quitting when your ahead is not the same as quitting", Since JBRAGG plays year-round sports then there is no need to force anything, everyone has some rough patches,even the best sports gambler in the world (whoever that is) will have rough spells where they can't hit anything, anyone who tells you otherwise is a liar, even if you are somehow hitting an amazing 60% long-term at -110 odds you are still losing 40% of your games and in that 40% there will be rough spells
I have World Cup futures so I'm just rolling with that, I've only played a handful of games of baseball this year, one of those games went 20 innings LOL,

Just letting you know that whatever you decide you to do, I'm behind you 100% - would hate to see you go.
I would have liked to see you crank up the "IF YOU WANT TO MAKE MONEY PLAY THIS" threads you had last summer - this season it's been a different style, and for some reason hasn't given you the same focus.
Saw your plays yesterday, and OUCH.
The games just aren't jumping for you right now. FWIW I think you were AWESOME last year after the All-Star break - teams perform radically different in the 2nd half of the season and maybe your plays will start to take off then.
But don't just quit until football. Take a needed break, and jump back in when the stars align your way again.

Bragg its been nice checking your plays and deciding if I wanted to tail you or just play my own......all Im saying is if you want to stop posting or post just once in a while just do it instead of announcing it why take up four or five pages of explanations of what or why your doing it....You have had a nice ride here through the first part of the MLB season and right now you've had a few bad beats but it will pass and Im sure after you take a little break you will be back just as strong as the first few weeks when you were really on fire....anyway good luck on the rest of the NBA playoffs and maybe the second half of the baseball season.........
