To me this line is ridiculous. If Penn St played any good team in their first four the line would be more where it should be, and that's at around -6. Illinois is not a GREAT team, but they can hang with PSU. People are getting way too into this team, especially with comments that they are the best in the Big 10. Ohio St will thrash this team.

I'm not on it but Illinois +14 looks like an amazing play to me. Juice will move the ball on Penn St and JoePa will get out-coached.

If you knew anythign about Penn State, you would realize Joepa doesn't coach, he is just the face of the program. He was in the press box in the 2nd half of the Temple game last week. Temple is a decent team, not as good as Illinois but not far off. Temple was actucally in the game at 0-0 @ end of 1st.

As for the question of the big 10, who is going to get in their way? Ohio state, really? you think so? Derrick Williams is explosive, Royster is running the rock, and their QB play, I believe will continue to be at a high level. Their defense looks hungry. They don't try running up the score and holding clock, it's just what people call execution. if the game was in Lion country I would say penn state by 10+ but it is in Ohio State, and if the game was this saturday, I would take penn state. However, they are playing Illini, with a QB who will be contained by a smart, quick defense. LB U by 20.

You'll be one of the only few then, enjoy.

Illinois is awful and it was an insult that 'SC had to play them in the Rose Bowl. Illinois has a retard for a coach who doesn't have the first idea about X's and O's, their stadium and fans are a joke, and the only reason they're mentioned at all is because they have a black, "athletic" QB who the media loves to shove down our throats simply because he's "promising" and has a hip-hop-sounding nickname. Unfortunately, he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a football and could never play his position at the next level. I hope PSU beats them by 50 so we never have to hear about this program again, which would allow them to resume their proper role of conference doormat all the sooner.

hippie where do you get off saying that Illinois fans are a joke??? What makes you hate Illinois so much??? I went to school their and unless you have ever stepped foot on that campus I think it's one of the best schools in the country for watching any sporting event. Especially basketball. I think you need to lay off of Zook. He took a team that was losing 11 games a year into a team that is contending year in and year out for a big ten title. Juice didn't have a hard time hitting his receivers while they were playing the #5 ranked team in the nation.

You and all the other haters will be stuck with a foot in their mouth after this weekend is over with.

How can you call Memorial stadium a joke, they just spent $116 million in renovations over the summer and it's one of the best stadiums in the Big 10. Did someone from Illinois donkey bunch your Mom or something?

Well, I've seen two games there before and both times it felt like I was sitting in a highschool stadium from a physical standpoint. Soundwise, it was a library in there, the fans were absolutely clueless and sitting on their hands. I actually had a much better time watching games in Evanston which is another highschool stadium but at least their fans had some energy. And I don't care about your basketball program, we're talking football here and your coach is most definitely a joke. Again, the sooner you're back to being the doormat we're all accustomed to, the better for everyone.

Dog wins this week, fav wins next week on ABC prime time. At least that's how I think and would prefer the cookie to crumble.

Juice will be loose on Saturday

Your entitled to your opinion but I have to step in when it comes to the doormat comment. The Illini were a doormat team 2002-2006 after Ron Turner ran the program into the ground but traditionally they are far from a doormat. They have won the Big 10 about 15 times and normally finish in the top half of the conference. Hate on Hater!!!

Hippie i'm not sure who you are a fan of but if I recall Illinois has been to 2 BCS games. I believe that is more than the supposedly powerhouse teams not named Michigan and Ohio St. Illinois has one of the best fan base in the country. If you don't believe me come down to St. Louis and check out the Mizzou vs. Illini game. You will be hard pressed to find another atmosphere that compares to that game.

So keep on hating douchbag.

"That's alright, that's ok, you'll be working for ME one day!... That's alright, that's ok, you'll be working for ME one day!"

Haha, gotta love that chant from the Northwestern kids. They kept it up all day in Evanston for a game I saw there against Ohio State, even when OSU was up 5 TD's. And boy did it piss-off all the nearby OSU fans something special.

Meanwhile, what's the Illini chant in Champaign?...

I went to school at Illinois so I might seem a little partial to them but Penn St. has not played anybody that has any talent. We started off playing the second best team in the nation and if we would have had a couple of breaks we would have beat them. Missouri can pass all over anybody they play. Our defense is ALOT better than what they are getting credit for. I look for our secondary to have a huge day.

On a side note they have had 2 weeks to prepare for this Penn St. team. I like Illinois to cover and I REALLY like the over.

31-28 Illinois wins
Illinois was miles away from beating Missouri. They were never in the game, and Missouri's secondary was pathetic that game. Missouri beats them 9 times out of 10, at least.

I hope we can compete against Penn St. But it could get ugly. I wouldn't bet your money on Illinois, let alone mine.

Illini football fans suck. It's laughable how pathetic and clueless they are. They bitch when you stand up, and they get loud when Illinois is on offense. It's embarrassing to real fans like me and my brother.

Illinois is not traditionally a doormat team, but I agree with everything else you said.

Seriously, bro. I'm glad you love them, and I love them as well. But our fans suck. The worst. Basketball, yes we have good fans. Football fans should be required to attend a game at Columbus or Ann Arbor before they are allowed to purchase season tickets to Illini games. They might have a clue after that.

The stadium is nice, though.

Illini - what kind of score do you see here? They should be able to put some points up on Penn St.

For Hippie - Illinois usually has one very strong season every 4 years. We realize that USC can beat Ohio St, but Illinois beat them in the Horseshoe, that is an accomplishment that few can say. :103631605

Best damn mascot in the Big 10.

What are your thoughts on Zook?

In fairness, I haven't been back to Memorial since renovations and I realize they've put a lot of money into it, but it really did resemble a highschool stadium prior. Combine that with the totally bizarre behavior of their fans (who didn't even realize they were at a football game) and the downright awful product on the field, and it just left me with a very sour taste in my mouth and an overwhelming negative view of the program. The fans were just so shockingly bad, especially since I was expecting a completely different atmosphere. Chicago has always been my favorite sports town in the country and I was thinking that would spill-over into the rest of the state. So for other Illini fans here to post that it's "one of the best" places to watch a game is not only completely baffling, but makes me think they've never attended a sporting event outside of Champaign.

Stop being so emotional. First and foremost, I'm a slave to college football and appreciate quality no mater where it comes from. At the same time, I'm a diehard USC 'fan' and have no problem saying what a joke of a program, from administration all the way down to the fans, 'SC had turned into before Carroll arrived. And even now there's way too many idiots in the 'SC fan base that I'd never want to associate with. Leave your comfort zone of Champaign for once in your life and witness a game elsewhere where the fans actually have a clue. I promise you your eyes will be opened to a totally different world; like going from standard to high-def television you'll suddenly realize what you've been missing.

Yeah, that was a great day for the Illini and I only hope 'SC can duplicate their feat next year in Columbus. Agreed, great mascot, love all the Native American ones. At least the University hasn't succombed to political correctness and changed their representation.
