WORLD NUMERO UNO: An interesting thread that really will get posters jacked-up.

That being said, you don't know jack-sh*t about golf. Never, ever think for one moment that Eldrick is better than Jack. As far as your other verbage...........good stuff.

Great thread. I would like to submit my opinion that in the team sport of Basketball, Magic Johnson is the greatest I have ever seen play. Of course, I am only 25 yrs old. Lol.

most everything i wrote is debatable. no doubt..

but i do know jack sh-t about golf. nicklaus had about 7 guys to beat when he was putting together most of his remarkable career.

he even says himself that when he showed up to a tournament you could hear the names falling off the leaderboard. dont get me wrong, he ws incredible. what he did in 86 at augusta was the single most exciting sunday in my sports watching history.

i put this thread out there because i miss the way sports was back in the 70's and early 80's.

their has been a deterioration of the major sports.

NHL is on life support
NBA level of play is a joke
MLB is lacking the characters it had back in 70's and 80's.
NFL seems to be about who can do the best endzone celebration.

instead of saying it has BEEN a good time to be a sports fan, i should have said it WAS a good time.

only reason i watch all the sports i do now is for 2 reasons.

1) nothing else on TV to watch
2) i have a decent amount of money invested in the outcome.

I too became fed up with petulant primma donnas many years ago-- I'd like to think i outgrew sports. After so many years there's very little one hasn't seen, & there're very few events i can stand watching from start to end. I treat it as a boring business to endure-- albeit less so than a regular 9-5......

WORLDY ONE: You say you know golf, but by stating that Eldrick bests Jack, shows you don't. I could go on for pages proving you wrong and your line about only six guys to beat is lame.
That being said, when Jack made his stand as the games finest, his length was so superior to anyone else, all noted that Nicklaus was playing a game with which they were not familiar with.
Lets talk course management, on second thought................lets not.
Jack was always smart enough when things went wrong, to get on the horn with his teacher Jack Grout and get back to basics. When Eldrick saw that he had 200 mil in the bank, his ego got the best of him, dumped Butch Harmon and has been failing ever since.
Last but not least, if you took todays work out and dietary programs, along the equipment advances and the G*d-damn golf ball............well I state my case. :think2: think about it.

BTW................I still think it's a good thread, thanks Worldly.
