I have a Banks as well, never got it Graded....Any Value there ?
Might have a few Al Kaline cards floating around...Guess one day I'll have to look.

Sorry, wouldn't part with Any mantle cards...even if you had that Blond from the Las Vegas Club sit on My Face ! :):):):)

As long as it's not too creased up or dog-eared, it is worth grading. Any 50's star is worth grading. Banks $500+, Kaline $700+.

I get Beckett price guide online, let me know if you want stuff priced. Scans always help so I can get an idea.

Wow that brings back memories of tearing open 89 fleer boxes to find that card.

I happen to have 2, graded Mint 9 of the above card. Not sure at this time what they are worth. Because I haven't looked at my cards for Years.

This was going to be my answer. I have this card locked away at the bank in my safe deposit box.

The Gretzky rookie is super hard to find in mint condition. Low print run and the centering problems are big factors.

Mantle 1952. Have an early 60's price guide from Wholesale Card Co. of New York, listing this card at $ 1.00. I used to fill in sets, through this NY based store. Of course, this was before the late 1970's-80's proliferation of card dealerships on every street corner.

I guess my Barry Bonds rookie card is worthless

Yeah, no kidding. This got me to thinking - I was really into cards in the 80s. I have tons of rookie cards from this decade - McGuire, Bonds, Clemens etc. Guess the steriod craze pretty much ruined these.

I do have 3 topps Ripken rookies, so I guess that saves a little face.

There's a good article on the collapse of the trading card market in this week's Sports Illustrated. I still have thousands of cards. Have two Reggie Jackson rookie cards that back in the day I thought were going to be valuable. Still like going through all the old baseball, football and basketball cards, even though they are worth nickles to the dollars they were going for back in the 80s.

That was a good article was good. Lots of greed all around, starting with the leagues and player associations. Your Jackson cards will be fine over time.

I will need to look at it again. If memory serves me right, I believe the centering may have been off on my card as well.
