I hate these current catch rules as too many get called incomplete when back in the day it would not be. He caught that ball yet due to the asinine rules, it is considered incomplete. The inconsistencies are ridiculous. Like you just have to get the ball to break the plain yet if you catch a ball in the end zone, come down with it in bounds with both feet but for whatever reason you land out of bounds after the play is done and the ball moves, it is not a catch. One word to describe that... stupidity

Not that complicated. When a runner breaks the plain with the ball, he *already* has control & possession of the ball. The nano-second the ball breaks the plain, it's a TD.

When did Doctson have control & possession of the ball? So you're saying a receiver should get credit for a TD, the instant he touches the ball?

No, you just don't recall what the rules used to be where the ground can't cause a fumble or incomplete pass.

Ground can't cause an incomplete pass? Please find where/when this was a rule.
