that was just an off the cuff asset allocation... i just thru in % that added up to 100%.

most people have over 90% of their assets tied into real estate with their primary residence.

step one is to eliminate all debt, big debate over whether you should even have a mortgage, but that is a personal choice.

paying interest on debt with money you earn from investments is like spinning your wheels.

Ford stock hovering around $12, not doing so well. I have about 500 shares. If it didn't have dividends I'm not sure I'd hang on to it.

SVMLF was a 1.29 on 2/6/15 its now 3.27, not a bad return....would have had to deal with the stomach knots when it was trading below $.50cents for a short time however hahaha. i wish i had poured everything i had into it when it was in the 60/70cent range....oye what a run

with interest rates being so low.

if the money was not needed , i'd prob put it in gold and wait for the inevitable.
