I would travel to the middle east, then the far east, then the far south, then back, then see how much I have left, then continue

I'd keep gambling, no question. It's what I do.

Whales from business endeavors and also wiseguys from gambling endeavors don't pull up, when they become that big from years of winning or putting-pen-to-pad, they just adjust to the "theory of relativity" and play with bigger outs or become a "bookmaker's bookmaker" then wait to see what games they're offered to "off" the action..but rarely quit "gambling" in all forms, be it sports or other endeavors(ex:in some cases a few may gamble on whether golf course developments takes off,etc..Dewey or BW).

P.S. In most cases(like Nick The Greek or Stu Ungar) those that have made it toi millionaire status via gambling do not stay there, they lose not some, but usually all of it and then some(credit burned) back!

I think everyone would still gamble, its just an issue of how much of it they would gamble. After all if you took 100k and made it your BR and played 2% a play, 2 dimes a game is enough action for 99% of the bettors out there. Take the 900k and set it aside for investments or whatever. The key is that the person who made a mil, did he do it through just a lot of winners, or did he hit a monster parlay or slot machine? The guy that hit it through betting large and winning would almost certainly keep betting big. The other winner would sit on much of it, probably spending a bit frivolously.

A million is that much. You but a 600k house. A car/s worth 60k. Pay your insurance for the yr for your home and cars. Pay your property taxes. Upgrade a couple other things in your life. Assuming you woldnt give some away youd have around a 300k bank roll. I think most of us would just make sure all our outs had max bets of atleast a dime for every play. Play that a 1% unit at 1 or 2 books per play.

Shrink, I've asked that very legit question to a few players and to a man (didn't ask any gals) they had not even thought of it. It's not a consideration.....ScottyS

I don't think there's such a thing as putting away 900K and gambling with the 100K philosophy. Either you quit for good or keep gambling forever. You know what will happen ...you lose the 100K, then you'll say to yourself, OK just get back to the mill and I'll quit. We all know the cycle....next thing you know, you're Nick the Greek(who had almost all the chips at Binions at one point stored in box, around 20-30 mill if I'm not mistaken, and lost it all, penniless.) For me, I'm in it for the money. Yes, the heart thumping stuff is cool now and then but what it boils down to is the green. I would trade in all that living on the edge stuff for a mill any day. Then I 'll just live my life as a peaceful square, traveling the world and starting a business. I guess it all depends on the value of a million dollars in your mind. For me, I will definitely quit. A mill would set me straight.

Natural, those that achieved their first million thru gambling, were either naturals(still requiring hard-lessons), or pros from one side of the counter or the other, and by the time they achieved that success, the need to daily-grind or not(loaded and can walk away) doesn't determine their ability to walk from the allure, they stay heavily staked to at least their strongest sport(if not all), it's what they became or always were..much like the Mike McD lesson taught by Judge Petrovsky in Rounders("what choice?..our destiny chooses us").

Walking away at the highest ebb, is always only considered when the money's gone.
