J~man, I agree, the games, of course, are much better today. And your exactly right about how the older Madden's would seem to allow the losing team an advantage for some reason. What I loved about the earlier versions, is the fumbles. When you knocked a fumble out of a guy in the older Madden's, it said "Fumble" really loud, and that sucker bounced around everywhere for you to try and get. Today's games rarely fumble, and if they do, you cant even see whats going on really, just whoever ends up with it in the complete mess!

That is your personal atheletic prowess, which is fine but let ask you something. Do you think Joe Louis would be a viable heavyweight boxer today? Do you think Bob Feller could strike out Bobby Bonds? Of all sports basketball has changed the most, with football a close second, because of size and speed. Baseball, Hockey, Boxing, and golf have not seen major differances in talent level over the last 50 years. Equipment yes, atheletes are still just that atheletes.

Wil, your right, and as I mentioned above, if any sports were still similar from years ago to todays, baseball would be one of them.(since it requires the least skill!

(Can you tell I'm not a baseball fan lol ) But still, speed and quickness are soooooo much, if not the most important factor to all of these sports, and people, you might say, not just "athletes", but people in general today, are just that, quicker, faster, bigger.

The Babe has reached mythic status. The Japan soldiers used to insult their American counterparts with "Fvck Babe Ruth".

Thats true, the Germans did it also. I wonder if any Iraqi soldiers were shouting fvck Barry Bonds during the recent hostilities in the Middle East.

Baseball will always be the greatest game ever invented! Its just that MLB BLOWS, its not the game of Baseball that blows , the game is the ultimate...Hitting a baseball is the hardest thing in sports to do well!

From Field of Dreams:

Terence Mann: Ray, people will come Ray. They'll come to Iowa for reasons they can't even fathom. They'll turn up your driveway not knowing for sure why they're doing it. They'll arrive at your door as innocent as children, longing for the past. Of course, we won't mind if you look around, you'll say. It's only $20 per person. They'll pass over the money without even thinking about it: for it's money they have and peace they lack. And they'll walk out to the bleachers; sit in shirtsleeves on a perfect afternoon. They'll find they have reserved seats somewhere along one of the baselines, where they sat when they were children and cheered they're heroes. And they'll watch the game and it'll be as if they dipped themselves in magic waters. And the memories will be so thick they'll have to brush them away from their faces. People will come Ray. The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh,.. people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

That I don`t size up the fence and think about launching a few over that fence...I still love the game...And if I could I`d still play hardball somewhere... the best of times were those long summer days playing baseball from early in the morning til afternoon, or even wiffle ball...A couple a bucks for a soda and a baseball glove what more could I kid need?

If Barry Bonds played back then, he
wouldn't be shit - because they
wouldn't have the juice to turn him
into a freako steroid junkie.

My buddy played college ball with Barry,
and said he was a skinny punk.

You don't put on 30-50 lbs of pure muscle
after the age of 30+ without some serious
steroids.

bottom line? Barry is a cheater.
