How the hell else does a coach from another team then decide a game they are not coaching?Dante said:did not say OWN game....LOL good play on words fishy LOOK below
im am sure a SHITLOAD of coaches and Players and REFS bet spreadlines/ ML...you can totally see it at times with calls and what not IMO
good point Ill...I just have a gut feeling about it that it DOES happen at times...Illini said:Dante, why would the refs or coaches risk their careers on something stupid like this? The refs make a fortune, and we all know how much the coaches make. If they blow a call, it's going to get reversed anyway.
In this particular example, I'd say you still must punt...you have 2 timeouts left (2 min warning), you're down 10 , realistically you can get the ball back with 1:55 left here down 10...it was the right call I think.bucsfan67 said:When watching that game, and starting this thread, i don't necessarily think the coaches are fixing the games, i think they are aware of the pointspreads and i simply wondered why would a coach punt on 4th down with 3 minutes to go down 10 with 2 timoeouts.....
That was the question.....There is no reason to worry about losing by 17 rather than 10, unless you are worrying about that sort of thing....this isnt the ncaa where u are ranked, and a bad loss can hurt worse, and there is no feasible tie breaker that will come into effect from that extra 7 points.....

Hell last may I was at my granddaughters birthday party went downstairs and my son-in-laws best friend who was off to his columbine workout for NFL scouts , was on the computer betting baseball through Wager Street. He says that even if he was picked by the NFL he'd still bet. He was picked up and is still wagering, lol. And NO I won't name names.
I agree Illini. I have to think that officials want to get ahead just like any business and to do so they must make good calls. However, just like any other business there are those who cheat and also those who use politics to get ahead. I would think that cheating and politics happen a lot more in regular business since it is not so out in the open.Illini said:I think the refs had money on Fla St last year against Florida. But that's the only game that I've seen that I believe was fixed. I used to umpire Div 1 baseball, and although there isn't much gambling on that sport, I know the kind of people that officiate games, and I was one of those people. Many of the umpires I worked with also officiate football. They take great pride in their work, and every mistake bothers them. There is corruption, I'm sure, but I believe it is very, very isolated.
