My last response to you was in response to your smart-ass addressing of me as "Ralphy the political expert of south america after an entire four years". You have no idea who I am or what I've experienced. I don't perform "personal attacks" on people unless attacked myself. I can tell from your immature statements that you are more than likely a 20-23 year old college student that thinks he knows it all from reading his texts and watching the evening news. Have you even been outside your country? Participated and experienced politics in action in your own country let alone others?

Answer one question for me please. What would've been your solution to the situation that existed in Iraq? Do you know the history of the Resolution passed after the '91 gulf war? Do you know of Saddam's action after it was passed? Please, go online, get your textbook or something and read what actually took place. Then tell me what you would do. It was absolutely ludricrous that either the US, the British, or anyone who signed the resolution didn't enforce it earlier!

As far as Isreal is concerned, if they can't straighten out their differences with the palestinians and come to some kind of workable solution, I'm all for getting out of the "peace bargaining" process alltogether and let em all kill each other.

Hey rfc, yep, sure do speak portuguese, fluently. If you want to give me some contact info. would be more than happy to give you a ring. So you're calling me a liar, lmao, whatever. I don't need to lie. The mayor of the city where I live was just here in my apartment at 10 am this morning. I've known him for the entire time I've lived in this city, which has been several years. I just recently returned from a trip to Rio de Janeiro on business to the American consulate with a "vereador do capital", if you even know what the **** that is. Call a spade a spade? Give me contact info. I'll verify every word if you would like.

Wow, you guys really must have some boring ass uneventful lives if you find the things I've said here unbelievable. It's not that big a deal, lmao, I know and am personal friends with some Brazilian politicians, have even participated in some of their campaigns. I have some american politicans that are friends as well. I personally know and am a friend of Robert Byrd, my grandfather was great friends with him. Guess I'm lying about that too. I guess you think anyone that is posting at the same place you are has to have the same kind of boring-ass uneventful life as yourself.

Apparently a high ranking Brazilian Politician now posts on the Rx!

By the way, this isn't 1991! But yes, we've read/heard of the 12 years of sanctions on Iraq.
History will not absolve this, neither past nor present.
But I agree with you: You don't have to read about the situation in Iraq. The answer is obvious. This was an unjust act of aggression with no justification, pre or post invasion.

So, how about those Portuguese lessons?

My last response to you was in response to your smart-ass addressing of me as "Ralphy the political expert of south america after an entire four years".
And my initial post was a mockery of you acting like a Brazilian "insider" after 4 years of living there.

I can tell from your immature statements that you are more than likely a 20-23 year old college student that thinks he knows it all from reading his texts and watching the evening news.
And I can tell from your assinine miscalculations that you're an over-assuming imp that thinks he can read between the lines, but sadly, as is the case with most of your posts, you're complete off base.

Have you even been outside your country?
Yes
Participated and experienced politics in action in your own country let alone others?
Yes, No (although my wife is from South America & I fancy her lifetime experience of SA politics takes the cake over your 4 - but then again she never had dinner with the mayor
icon_rolleyes.gif
)

What would've been your solution to the situation that existed in Iraq?
INCREASED inspections & went through the UN. The UN created the resolutions & thus simple logic dictates that the UN may/may not enforce them.
Iraq WAS NOT a direct threat to America or the UK.

As far as Isreal is concerned, if they can't straighten out their differences with the palestinians and come to some kind of workable solution, I'm all for getting out of the "peace bargaining" process alltogether and let em all kill each other.
Didn't you just say that somebody needs to enforce broken/violated resolutions?

I'm surprised that your non-serving self isn't all for blowing as many countries to bits as possible.

lmao, really don't need to attempt to convince or impress you boys. If you think being the friend of a mayor of a city, or vereadors, is so unbelievable, well, that answers any questions.

Once again, my posts that I have posted about brazil are true and accurate. If you think I'm being boastful or lying because I know and am friends with brazilian politicians, that's your problem, not mine. I have a few more years than 23, or even 33. Like I said above, the "unbelievability" that the two of you have, rfc and yourself, of the things I've stated about my experiences here in Brazil as well as friendships I have, tells a lot more about you, than any other posts I could read from you.

So, how about those Portuguese lessons?

jodete is "fvck you"...translated literally. But its really only understood (to my knowledge) in very strict Spanish and is not as strong as it is in English.

The remainder of your translation is dead on the mark. "Pendejo," translated literally, is "pubic hair". The implication here is than an "asshole" is the lowest form of life, i.e., a pubic hair.

google translator, lmao. At least you knew that we do speak portuguese here and not the spanish that you just spewed.

I can hear what you're thinking now, "it just can't be, an American that lives in Brazil, speaks portuguese, knows and is friends with Brazilian politicians, it just cant be!"

Is it that hard for you to believe?? That does tell me quite a bit.

See ya folks a little later. Y'all take care now y'hear?

Just like a gringo speaking in Spanish, like myself. Ahem...not really too hard to believe.

Take care. Say hello to the mayor for me.

You're the one that made the assumptions about me not speaking portuguese. I don't live in a large city like Sao Paulo or Rio where you could get by speaking only a little portuguese and the rest english. I have to speak portuguese, I have no choice.

Say hello to the mayor for me.

Still can't believe it huh?? LMAO!! Wow, really didn't know some would be so impressed by me having a friendship with the mayor of a relatively small city in the third world. Like I said before, tells me a lot....Take Care.

Actually "jodete" varies in meaning depending on location, for example one context in Costa Rica, in a serious tone, "te voy a joder" can be a death threat, on the other hand, "no jodas", in a joking manner is like don't bug me or you're shitting me. I understand that in Spain it's taken quite seriously.

and joder (according to the Real Academia Española, means "to fvck"). "joderse", then would mean "to fvck oneself".
