Quite slim.

Currently, he has 223 hits in 589 AB's. Based on his average AB's/game, he should expect about 120 more AB's this season for 709 total. Let's say 710. A .400 average over 710 AB's requires 284 hits, meaning he'd need another 61 hits. 61 hits in 121 AB's comes to .504. So, he'd likely need to bat a little over .500 the rest of the way to finish at .400.
