You know, sometimes I wonder with these cup games. Take today for example... Leverkusen can't score a goal until the 82nd minute, and then Mainz gets one to tie the game 6 minutes later... then in OT, Leverkusen explodes for 3 goals in only 30 minutes! Of course, the books grade the wager based on 90 minutes only. Only a little bit "fishy" there.

Today wasn't the only cup game I've seen this happen to. Oh well, we learn from our mistakes, no more cup games.

exactly,i too will be very cautious about cup games also staying away from leagues with last 2-3 weeks left, especially teams with no goals left, there can be fixing involved

2-0 today

Sorry, I wasn't around to answer your question. If I feel Sporting would win, taking -1 is not a bad thing, you just have a chance of pushing if they don't get the second. I like to look for teams to just win in soccer, it's tough enough because draws can screw you. Sporting came through on the parlay. And what a comeback by the Red Devils, I thought my first parlay was dead in the water at half time. Man United just dominated that 2nd half.

Ice - I like your picks and way of approaching the game.

Question - what do you think of action that selects a WIN OR DRAW for a game? Obviously the reward is greatly reduced but at least you are covered on two of the three possible outcomes. I also have a site that offers "draw - no bet" action. Just another way to manage the risk, imo.

Any opinion appreciated.

Well, Pinny (where I play) doesn't have this option, so I have never used it (I made up my own a few times on straight wagers where I took the team to WIN and then backed it up on the DRAW option) Obviously, this is a much safer route when you are backing up a team to win with the tie. However, the juice on this (when you are taking a huge fave to win) is very high. So there is next to no value in doing this, unless you are taking a small fave. Hope that helps.

Alright, I'm playing a straight wager in the Champs League today.

Taking OVER 2.5 (-101) in the Chelsea/Barca game.

NaD, Barca is the favorite but you never know, I could see a 2-2 draw here. Safe(r) bet would be some money on Barca PK (meaning if they draw, you push, as opposed to betting moneyline and if they draw, you lose).

Hope to get back on track after a disastrous Champions League.

2 parlays for tomorrow:

Man United ML + Tottenham ML

Pays +132

Bayern Munich ML + Basel ML

Odds are roughly -170 (not good odds, but can't find a solid 3rd team to add to this)

Sunday will be much better for surefire parlays.

1-1 yesterday, got really fucked by Basel, who had a 2-0 lead in the 2nd half and blew it to Sion

Anyways, move on as they say. Got this for tomorrow locked in:

PSV ML + Liverpool ML + Bordeaux ML

Pays +110
