It's the 21st century man..."limited Internet access" might have flown as an excuse in 1992, but now it don't.
Never had a problem with the Greek....nor have any of my clients and/or associates. Worst I've heard is them asking for a photocopy of ID. I don't like this in theory, but I'm not really concerned with the Greek doing this specifically.
A lot of the animosity you're hearing is not because the Mods are backing the people that facilitate their "paychecks", but because this is very bush league irresponsible stuff that you see too often on sportsbook forums. Some guy logs on and says that "a friend"--it's usually a secondhand or thirdhand experience--has had some trouble or another with a particular sportsbook. A lot of times the posters have some sort of vested interest in running down the book in question--not saying that you do, but that's a lot of the reason you're getting a less than sympathetic reception from the peanut gallery.
There are plenty of bad apples in the sportsbook world and plenty of books that don't give a flying f*ck about their reputation or clients. Other books try their level best to do a good job for their customers and balance their convienence with their own obvious security interests. I've always put the Greek into the latter catagory and continue to do so.
Like the mods said, I'd welcome your friend telling his story first hand. You obviously have Internet access, so hook him up if he's that upset. If not, every public library in the country just about has Internet accessable computers.....
It's not that the posters and mods here aren't sympathetic to a sh*t book jerking around their customers--its that if you've been around the block on sites like this you've seen too many good books impuned by innuendo. If your friend has a legit gripe, the posters here would give good advice and tender sympathy and the mods will likely do what they can to help him sort things out. But you have to go about things the right way, and particularly with a book that most have had overwhelmingly postive experiences with.
