I followed all the threads, both here and at MW (where the bulk of it was discussed).

StiffedByCRIS did nothing wrong except abide by the rules. His story totally held up - there were no backtracks or contradictions. He 110% deserved to be paid.

Pat - nothing personal, I raise the same consistetcy questions with The Major all the time. And Peep before when he suddenly was backing Pro 5 after becoming a mod (I think you did the same
icon_wink.gif
). And everyone is welcome to change their opinion on issues. But I don't think it fair to say that you never said they were not a solid out.

Laker - dig deeper next time, I made much worse comments than that, LOL. I really wanted the guy paid and I felt strongly he should be, frustrated me to say the least. Still there is no doubt CRIS is solid financially. Nothing has changed in my view. If you know something about CRIS being a dangerous place to post up please fill us in. I can always learn something, CRIS isn't even an advertiser here. I have no reason to say they are solid if I don't believe they are.

Walk - thanks buddy. Before I took this job you had become a voice of reason I made sure to take time to read your posts. Hope we don't disappoint you. Get in touch if I can ever help you in any way.

Sodium - thanks for the comments, really appreciated. Here's a guy you can't start off any worse than we did. We wanted to rip each other's heads off many times. However I always noticed he knew what the hell he was talking about when he spoke on college football, poker, horses and lots of other things. I don't speak on politics personally but if I did.... Anyway even before I took this job we buried the hatchet and it was one of the best things I did. He's a HOF'er elsewhere but instead of kicking me recently he never said a word while some others did who were sweet as could be to my face. I didn't expect that sort of fairness from what was once a hated rival but it was nice to see and it told me all I needed to know about this guy.

I am hotheaded at times and when I feel strongly I feel strongly. Not a good recipe for being everyone's best friend on line. Anyway when guys like Dogball, SP and others who were vicious rivals can move past this sort of stuff there is hope for all of us.

Really good thread with Walk of Life, Halifax, lakerfan and Pat & the rest. It's too bad Beantown continues to crap on these.

Pat,
"#1 - BoDog. The vocal minority feel I "sold out""

I'm not sure if it is a "minority" or not but maybe when you give BoDog a clean bill of health you should be a little careful not to make it seem like they are now "recommended". There are some issues that keep popping up with this operation. Your retraction and apology seem like an "all clear" and maybe it should be softened or at least clarified.

They ARE a recommended book Buzz. When you are done here how about sending me some details on these alleged problems you and your majority keep running into.

My thoughts are obvious, ALL CLEAR FROM HERE. One case and one easy slam dunk. Wish all the books spent as much time and effort as they did on fraud, we'd have less scammers running around. Be looking for your e-mail.....

Pat,
OK, that is clear. One question, the term "recommended", are you saying they are one of the top sportsbooks in the industry? Or are you saying there is just not enough dirt on them to make them bad hence they are "recommended"?

Because I would agree there is not enough dirt on them to consider them bad. But "recommended" is a term I think of when I think of elite sportsbooks, industry leaders as in the top 20 or top 10. Afterall, why would anyone "recommend" a book that is not an elite industry leader? BoDog is a decent book but not certainly not an elite industry leader IMHO.

Buzz - "enough dirt"? Other than a dispute with a site I don't recall one player dispute with these people. Not one. Not saying there isn't one as all books have them from time to time but I am not aware of one. I have been all over your site and see nothing there either. Even where you mention every book who has had a problem in the past I see no mention of them there either. What's your beef in all this? You really want to show I have "sold out" because I ruled in their favor on the issue I had to rule on? If so I think I am getting your message Buzz. Thanks.

Old Ballgame - if I figure it out I will let you know.

Buzzsaw:

Am I dreaming, or wasn't BoDog "on the bubble" of being on your Recommended List a month or two or three ago ?? I seem to recall them being one of the "others receiving consideration" books, along with Bowmans and Tradesports.

That statement sounds like one that the Shrink would have been addressing to you about 6 weeks ago.

Yes that must be it, the paranoia. I forgot to take the green pills this morning.

Just trying to learn something here. He has been doing it much longer than I have and I have respected his word. Must be something here I am missing, that's all. He was quick to correct me that he isn't sure it was only a vocal "minority" who feel I have sold out in this finding about BoDog.

Always got on well with Buzz so he is making this point to me for a reason.

Pat,
Don't misunderstand me, I think BoDog is OK and as Hal mentioned they have been mentioned as a good book although never recommended.

I don't have anything against BoDog. They had ownership issues at one time, they had a difficult to understand relationship with Mayan which saw them suddenly end their software agreement and encourage Mayan players to join BoDog, they have below average software, they had bookmaking problems a year ago which improved when they hired some talent, they had the incident where they short changed a rather well known advertiser and a recent odds gouging case. But overall they are fine I just questioned the "recommended" status.

I'm guessing JJ Gold would rank them 47th (sniker-sniker
icon_wink.gif
). So I don't have a beef with an "All clear" sign. I just think one should reserve the "recommended" status for books where you would send family to.
