Here is an email I got today from another online agency that lists Fairway Villas. Looks like the owner is going to keep on truckin'. By the way..I just sent the story that is listed above. I NEVER said I knew they were under new management -- because I don't know that..

So read carefully:

Thank you for contacting World Wide Travel Exchange. Please allow me to extend my most sincere apologies to you concerning your experience with this property. I have forwarded your experience to our Market Management Team for Las Vegas. We do like to hear information such as this to avoid a situation similar taking place with one of our guests. As you stated the property is under new ownership, as such we are currently renegotiating our contract with the property.

Thank you again for you comments. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any further questions via e-mail or directly via phone at 1-888-205-3315.

Sincerely,

Amy

Maybe the scumbag mayor Goodman can do something?

Why would you drag an infant to Vegas in 110 degree heat? You need to think about someone besides your self and your sick gambling addiction.

Just wanted to update & thank those who have provided info.

The DA's office called me today & the LVSUN & a Vegas TV station contacted me. Giving them my story now.

The DA said this guy has bucks..he buys up properties (condos, homes) and rents them out as vacation properties..illegally. He has NO ZONING clearance.

Anyway...that's the update.

Again, thanks for the help...and OH RAILBIRD YOU TURD...
Why do you think I wanted to rent a luxury condo far away from the strip on a golf course?? It obviously was not so I could drag my baby and nanny thru a smoke filled, noisy casino!! You retard.

Last time I was there they had air conditioning at the place I stayed. Maybe you need to upgrade next time.

Payton- Your last post jogged my memory about this. One of the local TV stations did a story about these guys as part of a report on local vacation rentals. The story was mainly about the demand for upscale vacation rentals in Las Vegas. I remember so well because these 2 guys were the real GQ, greaseball, guido looking yuppies that I detest. They were buying nice units in places like the Las Vegas Country Club and then renting them out on a short term basis. The reporter spoke to a few reps from the homeowner's associations in these communities and short term rentals like this aren't allowed.

Of course no one from the city or county ever enforced the rules on these guys because they're still in business and I think they may be the ones that ripped you off.

Soccerbob,

Your story fits the bill - the Las Vegas Sun mentioned they were already doing a story on this. Unfortunately, the DA said their office would be unlikely to help me & a civil suit would be costly (since these guys have $$$$ for lawyers to drag it out), BUT they were going after these guys on the zoning thing.

I'll wage war against these thiefs w/ the media.

Payton- The media is your best bet as well as a few things I'll cover below. You have to remember you're dealing with the most corrupt, bureaucratic, pass the buck, gutless dog city in America. I wouldn't count on the DA's office for much help. They tend to only get involved in things that are cut and dried. Meaning things they won't have to work very hard on.

Zoning- A confusing thing about Las Vegas is depending on the location of the property is who has the juristicion. You have to deal with either the city or county. The City of Las Vegas Neighborhood Response is 702-229-6615 and the Clark County Public Response is 702-455-4191. If the property is in a gated community then the Homeowner's Association has to enforce the short term rental rules that I think they're probably violating.

Media- The two best bets here are Contact 13 at ktnv.com and Darcy Spears or Glen Meek at kvbc.com They are two solid reporters that I think would get on this but go to each of those sites and read more.

One more angle that I think would be a big help is to contact the State of Nevada Consumer Affairs Division at 702-486-7355. I have heard there are some good people in that section.

Our two local newspapers are piece of shit, fish wrap rags. Both the Las Vegas Review Journal and the Las Vegas Sun wouldn't sell one paper if they were in a city where anyone could read but they still might be of some use.

I wish you the best with this. If I can be of any help, let me know.

sorry to here about your experience - instead of paying all that money to stay at the Mirage, you could have stayed at the Gold Spike downtown real cheap, as I recall its a classy place perfect for a family with small children.

If you sent the money across state lines you can also file against them in Federal court.

Soccerbob,

Thanks for the great phone numbers. I am in contact w/ channel 13. Someone from the 'Problem Solvers Unit' called & emailed last night. I just contacted them again to give them the updated info about these guys & the zoning problems. Maybe that will light a match under their ass.

The LV Sun is doing a story.

I'll call the Consumer Affairs Division -- thanks much. You are of great assistance.

Jwunderdog,
I did send a check across statelines. I'm getting the check back from my bank for "exhibit A" lol - I also have my lease, mirage bill, and a few other receipts related to this fiasco ready.

If I get on TV, I'll wear my RX shirt.
