smoltzie is a hell of a guy and a hell of a golfer as well. we played the RTJ course Silver Lakes in Gadsden, Alabama (rate at one time one of the hardest public courses in the nation by one of the golf publications) is 7674 yards from the tips on the two sides we playes (backbreaker and heartbraker) and he goes out there an a day when it was about 35 degrees and shoots 79 his first time ever seeing the course pretty impressive. He is probably one of the most awesome people i have ever met. I hope this story is more believable than EJ's because unlike his, this story is actually true

I shook Wade Boggs hand as we were both take leaks at a popular night club when Boggs played for the Sox. I was buzzed and pissing right next to him and couldn't figure out where I knew him from. I thought he was the boyfriend of a chick I was seeing on the side (I remember that scary feeling as they both had that moustache). It finally came to me and I offered my hand as we both were pissing we shook hands. He was nice at this point but later on we had choice words at the bar as he started insulting other Sox players (Dwight Evans and Easler but particularly Evans)...he had an ego out of control and when I brought up several "key" points to prove he was a selfish player (well known about Boggs is that he is like the most self absorbed stats freak there is) he went fuckin crazy. He couldn't take it like a baby that he is even though he dished it out for like30 minutes complaining about his own teammates. He tried to get at me and it was an unreal scene. He was escorted out by like 10 bouncers and I forever became the guy that Wade Boggs wanted to kill. He was irate. Yeah I know I should have let him hit me. I became a celebrity there everytime I came it as everyone knew me from this incident. I got smiles and pointed too everytime I came back.
