Look i get most of us are old and shit now but lets face it. writing in cursive is useless. Nobody does it pretty much ever at this point. How about we teach kids shit that actually matters in school like basic fucking finances so they don't all have debt to their eyeballs when they are 30. Just cause the bank will approve you for a 400k house doesn't mean you should buy one.

Handwriting got worse over time? I've never heard of this and don't understand it. I thought it was like riding a bike. Once you know it you know it. Doesn't get better, doesn't get worse. Strange but interesting.

Oh right, that's another thing. Writing checks. I have a small side business in landscaping and I write a lot of checks. That requires handwriting too. Or you should. It's more difficult to forge. I use cursive writing for the whole check not just signing my name.

Then I guess it's true if you don't use it you lose it. Now I'm picturing all the letters both lower and capital in my head to make sure I remember them lol.

Yep. Really not much of a reason to teach it. People will always know how to sign their own name and that's without teaching it in school And really other than that can't remember writing anything other than that in cursive after high school. Even most financial docs are docusigned now a days.

I never learned cursive and can only print except for my signature, which is very legible; my father is the same way.

Maybe their ipads and youtube videos can teach the kids this skill? Or maybe their teachers can??
