"Kaya... with that logic that means we should all be under the control of the Japenese

How did that kamikaze thing work out for them??"

Now the Japanese believe in Nirvana and holy wars too?

As I understand it with the Japanese it was about honor and supposedly the kamikaze deal carried that much more honor with it.

AMER: If suicide attackers or kamakazees is such a superior tactic, why isn't a nation of such people ruling the world?

BAR: Well, it's not helping us to actually 'rule the world', but that's pretty much what the Bush administration is doing now.

The difference is those committing suicide are not pre-assigned.

It's more of a lottery system. Might be a good time to reread Shirley Jackson's THE LOTTERY.

Chickenhawk Leaders in Wash DC tell the 135,000 troops, "Okay, we're going to get what we want with your help. That's the good news. The bad news is that 1 in every 130 of you will die for sure, and maybe a few more than that.

Good luck and Godspeed. Sayanora!"

In the end, just as useless and wasted as the Japanese kamakazi deaths.

There are fine people that have taken it upon themselves to protect and fight to the death, if need be, for the great country of the United States. They believe in honor too. Give it a name.

Well first of all Pat, I'm not saying I agree with the Japanese ways or not, I'm simply stating my understanding of the mentality they used.

Well when it's actually for the great U.S.A. they're called heros. However when the government is wrong is a duty and responsibility to be a conscientious objector.

I do Pat, comes from a proper upbringing, don't know about you though.

If you think it was right to go to Iraq it would appear that you have some trouble distinguishing.

Tell ya what here's a simple test for ya, who was right and who was wrong, soldiers that freely went to Nam or those that protested and refused to go?

I'll just say, that there were those who were right and that nobody was wrong.

Don't forget that was a democrat war and ended with a republican pres.

Are you serious? There are a million heros that signed up voluntarily to put their asses on the line, so that you and I don't have to. YOU SHOULD JUST SAY "THANK YOU", and leave it at that.

I just saw a documentary on the shit Saddam Hussein and his sons were doing to his people for the last 20 or so years. Going over there and removing that scumbag from power and from being a player in the world sceme of things is one of the coolest things the U.S. has ever done.

As for your Vietnam right or wrong question....maybe they were both right.

Yes I'm serious.
If you don't understand the importance of resisting the government when wrong as part of a healthy democracy then you don't really deserve democracy.

Thanks??? to who??? I'll admit that I do have pity for those that bought into government propaganda and volunteered to go to Iraq thinking it had anything to do with 9-11.

Yeah that makes it easy to justify our activity huh?
Now justify why we helped keep Pinochet in power in Chile.
It's all about political agendas, governments rarely, truely care about right or wrong.
