I did watch the entire card tonight, and certainly enjoyed it regardless of what my humble attempt at scoring told me. The middle and lower weight classes are still true sport in my opinion.
As for De La Hoya vs Hopkins: Oscar has not been training in his normal manner for almost 15 months (maybe a bit longer). His lower back is not at this time strong enough for Hopkins. Oscar's style demands a very strong middle and lower back. His feints to the right tonight were snappy going down, but very laboring coming back up. I haven't seen him use his shoulder like this before. He has for the last 7 or so years been very skillful at setting his opponents up by bobbing down to the right, pushing off with the left shoulder and then landing his overhand right. Tonight when he would push with his shoulder it appeared to me that he was not only pushing to stand Sturm up, but also to help himself back up. His previously masterful set-up technique was simply sloppy tonight. Hopkins is too much for him right now. Oscar has a lot of work to do for that fight!
