SG, same problem in a lot of places, KC is no exception. I would agree smaller towns get hurt - but then, that's the way it works, the big boys go rolling along and the small guys have to hope for some magical drafts.
I've heard the same here in KC for years and you know what? If the Royals cannot get it done and can't compete on the revenue they get, enough to keep the fans coming in the gates, as hard as it would be, then off they go. Bye bye. If the purpose of this franchise is to give the New Yorks and Atlantas of this world batting practice, then shut it down. I'm not bitter about it, just realistic. And every now and then a year where KC could compete for the division happens, and fans get hope, and that'll last a few more years. I think what's happening to Montreal is more kind, in a way.
