I have a feeling that Briles will run the score up on K State

It won't prove anything.

I said the guy can play.

Kansas St gives up plenty, he isn't facing Alabama. He should put up numbers.

Thanks stay out of my thread. You ignorant comment about Baylors philosophy is to score as many points as possible is laughable. You obviously haven't watched every game.

Almost all Rx members posting a pick in this game have taken Kansas State + the points. That sets itself up for a bloodletting. I'm not betting this game, but if I did, I'd think very hard on going contrarian to the forum majority and take Baylor - the points. Unscientific approach of course, but I've seen it happen way too many times here.

Good luck on whichever side you're on in this game! :toast:

Misconceptions in this thread:

1.) Baylor has a bad defense.

They allow 4.8 yards per play, #28 in the nation.

2.) Stidham has to somehow prove himself better than Russell.

Youre taking the "wait and see" approach which is fine. Others are trying to be ahead of the market based on the fact Stidham had a higher pedigree than Russell out of HS and has been in the system for a while already. There may be line value here based on the fact the backup is in.

3.) Handicapping the Baylor QB is the key to the game.

K St has the 68th ranked YPP rushing D at 4.5 YPP. Baylor has the #2 YPP rushing offense in the nation at 6.8 YPP. Baylor will be in short yardage all night and won't need to rely on Stidham to throw down the field and make mistakes.

Baylor may well cover, and Stidham might be as good as Russell, but their team stats are a bit misleading considering their schedule: SMU, Lamar, Rice, Texas Tech, Kansas, WV and Iowa State. Tennessee, for example, has NO WHERE near the team stats of Baylor, but almost every team they've played is better or equal to WVU- the best team Baylor played.Stidham looks good mostly in garbage time vs. backup defenses. Personally, I think he's another great Baylor QB just lacking Russell's experience.

Baylor will want to show the world that even without Russell they are a powerhouse, so they may stay aggressive on offense even if up 20 to get the poll points.
What worries me is the SOS for Baylor, # 104 by one noted ratings system, whereas K St is # 18, at home on an ESPN Thursday night, have a great coach, and want a win to get to 4-4 and get into the bowl picture.

Losers...I take back everything except Stidham being a stud. Briles got conservative and could cost him the game.

Right asshole. Scoring 60+ means nothing.

How did tonight turn out for you??

Ignorant? The guy cashing a ticket is ignorant? What does that make you?

You start a thread promoting Baylor as a play, and you verbally jack off Stidham like he's the second coming.

Starting a thread that gives out a loser, I wouldn't toss around the word ignorant unless you're talking about the asshole that started this thread.

Well he was wrong and so was I, but did you know Synder was going to "park the bus" the entire game...? I didn't see anyone mention it...wish you would have if you knew.

Small side note, the freshman was great all game long...

Wow you really are that dense aren't you. Do you even know the definition of ignorance? When you stated that Baylor tries to score as many points as possible every game...that boy is ignorant. By the way Stidham was just like I said he would be. I'll make the prediction right now that Russell does not get his job back next season. In your spare time pick up a dictionary and look up the word ignorant.

Baylor does not have a good defense, lets get that out of the way right now. K-State ran one play all night long with that QB run up the middle. Baylor could not stop it.

Sorry you lost Quack, look at Snyder's 2nd half record which is probably one of the best of all time. That old Bird is the real game day coach.

Wish I would have seen it quack! I missed it working hard in the ER...but it cost him a win in the second half running the clock out down 21 in the 3rd.

ps...glad I worked the shift, might need it after the weekend!

The bottom line is Baylor's defense will keep them out of the playoff. Bank on it. But if somehow they do run the table, I just don't see the winning a playoff game. If you can't stop K State, how could you stop a playoff team? Just my opinion.
