one case 10 years ago, whoopty doo. oj getting off isnt the equivalent of many whites getting off with lenient punishment for similar offenses committed by non whites who end up in prison.

burress and vick had a higher financial standing than this kids parents, both black and both wound up in prison for measly stuff compared to what this kid did. of course race is a factor.

You can cherry pick cases in a country of 320 million and point to whatever you want. I can counter with Leonard Little and Dontae Stallworth, much are more similar examples to the affluenza case than Vick or Burress. Both whacked people while drunk/high and got a slap on the wrist like the affluenza kid. Both "black" and wealthy.

But in this case, the affluenza case, it is about class and money. Do you think he was let off lightly because he was "white" or because his family had money and they could buy his way out of this? Did you forget he killed 4 "white people" and injured others?

Not disagreeing with your last statement but I am saying in this particular case it had everything to do with class.

After listening to people plead their cases on the Internet for well over 20 years I've come to the conclusion that most people are going to gravitate to the few cases that fit their preconceived notions of the world. What's even more baffling is that people will put more faith into the examples of their own experience to make up their mind versus that of millions of other people who have a different experience.

It's just human nature.
