i agree, all of these forums would be much better if betting theory was discussed and how to go about handicapping a game but obviously if someone is real successful with a certain method it can become -ev if everyone applies the method and wins with it.. for instance, if Dr. Bob gave out a step by step algorithm for handicapping a college football game his edge would completely disappear.. so it's a two way street I suppose.
Most people here are looking for an easy way to make some money and more often than not those people eventually go broke.
There are some people who tout these forums saying that there is all this golden information on these places when there probably isn't much at all.. that "what's your greatest secret" thread that fishead started was good but fishead himself just toyed with everyone and never told his own betting secrets.
