there are many reasons why its not a good comparison. But I am glad that once we beat this, people will take the flu more serious and help protect others in coming years.

a bigger chunk of frontline health care workers get the flu shot. Its great that many Americans also have the possible immunities from the flu shot. But our doctors, nurses, techs ect really need it.
So with CV they are facing a virus that absoluately zero of them have an immunity to. But guess who will be most exposed for many hours many days of the week when this peaks next month? So now you have a far greater % of important health care providers rolling in and out of commission.
this doesn't just affect CV patients.
many thousands a day more will die or have far worse medial outcomes than normal, because they won't have access to Emergency medical personel, hospital beds, surgeries, cancer diagnosis/treatment ect. The health care system is going to be swamped and will run out of staff, beds, supplies. Our medications for many no CV related illnesses and diseases is alread showing signs of impingement. And if not handled right, it might not just hurt the health care system for the time of peak cases of CV, it will ripple on for months or years afterwards having negative effects for people of every type of illness and injury.
