No doubt about it.

However, I'm not sure the term "bonus whore" is completely derogatory. It is very appropriate though.

To say "I am not a bonus whore" - is just like saying,

"I do not drink too much"
"I do not have a gambling problem"
"I do not masturbate too much" ... excreta, etcetera ...

Ok, if books want to offer you a bonus with +ev then of course I'll take it and I don't care what people call me. I'm with cincy. Is it wrong to bet at a slow moving book or scalp? And you can go on about the measly $100 not being worth it, but what is the EV on a $2000 bet when you have the best of the line by a little? It's pretty close to $100 if you really beat the line so maybe we should call these people line whores. As for multiple accounts etc. to take advantage well that's just unethical, but I don't see anything wrong with telling your girlfriend or someone about these great bonus offers and helping them get set up for the free few thousand dollars out there.

And for those of you that think casino bonuses are a trap, you need to take a closer look. Read the T&C's and you'll see plenty of +ev bonuses out there from casinos who let you play blackjack. So all those people who think they are morally righteous for beating books 'straight up' with no bonuses, you too are a whore for taking advantage of +ev opportunities stupid books offer.

That is one thing that I don't like about the Rx ... too many bonus whoring threads.

Most of the time, I don't click them, but when I see them, always get the feeling folks more interested in picking up cheap cash thru bonus whoring than making bets.

To borrow a pharse from Chuck Simms, it is a shit book. The only reason why the forum always has a discussion about a shit book, I think it is because of the bonus whoring.

If it is a shit book, don't desposit there. But if they have a bonus, someone will go deposit, then come here to biatch about it.

I think people have a good idea of the reputable operations out there. Discussion of marginal books, the shit books, are the result of bonus whoring.

The forum is not particularly interesting when the topic turns to bonus whoring in general, but that is only my opinion. The bonus whore would think it is wonderful discussion, but it is not. It is boring.:digit:

This discussion is very revealing. If one can read between the lines, you can tell who the pissant truly degenerate gamblers that have been gambling for years and are still in the negative, you can tell who the addicts are, you can even plainly see that condescending bitchass Rx proffessional shill who makes money hand over fist touting shit books, you can tell who the regular joe with a square job wife and kids here for some easy extra christmas dough, you can tell those who are interested in bottom line, play for real money and win more than they lose!

Im a bonus whore and damn proud of it.I play any game where the line is off and expect the books not to complain and cut my limits because they leave a line up too long.How else is a bonus whore going to make his rollover.The weaker books want you to bet bad lines.Book has 3 and another has 2-what is a player to do?How can any book say that you never play a bad number?

It's funny how they come out flexing their muscles and talking about "good books" vs. "shit books" when the entire industry is weak and all the books they bet at are shit bar maybe one or two. Just because they are winners laying -110 into a stock number doesn't mean they should become complacent and be happy with shitfulness. There is no reason these days why players should have to lay -110. -105 should be standard and will be soon, but these old school winners are holding us back with their "solid books" run by "stand up guys". The more "shit books" that come into the market the better it is for the industry and the player.

And just because someone takes advantage of all the +ev offers out there does not mean they can't win at sport. I would say it's smart to jump from book to book taking advantage of good offers and different numbers, even if you do have to give up a bit to risk being stiffed. People who can win playing into a few high juice books can win a lot more. And yes, people who can not pick enough winners to beat the juice can get ahead with bonuses if they can excercise a little discipline. I don't think this is something to get angry about.

So if you can manage to win at your 3 or 4 rock solid little carribean bookies then good luck to you but in my opinion that makes you a conservative chump.

here is my personal list of rock solid books.

1. Hills $2bn market cap, very strong balance sheet.
2. Ladbrokes $3bn but has the Hilton hotels, still solid balance sheet.
3. Paddy power $500k to $1bn and solid balance sheet.

Errr that's it folks.

For the other 30 or so books I use, I really know pretty much nothing about them. I've never read an annual report, don't know who their directors are or how they are financed. They are pretty much all private companies.

I see $100 profit from a bonus as just as good as $100 from the Pats beating Pittsbugh. I would strongly advise newcomers though not to go wildly chasing bonuses.

You can easily end up with a balance that gets out of hand. I currently have about $6k at Intertops which got started from a $1k deposit when they were offering a 20% reload bonus. Mostly that is dead money for a week or two because I can rarely get more than $500 on there, often much less.
