Surfboard - do everyone a favor - post all you like, but there is no need to call posters stupid idiots because they don't like the same side that you do. Why not show some class, and debate the issue without the name calling.

Thanks wil.

I must be missing something here. The Wolves won the West they have home court. They are the BEST team in the League. They are the BEST team in the League on the road. WHat more could you ask for. They will win the series. Keep your money in your pocket if you plan to bet on the Los Angeles Lakers. I dont think they have a chance in hell to beat the Wolves. I hope this message gets through. I can't believe that the Lakers are favored against the BEST team in the League on their home court. I think they call this stealing. No way in hell do the Wolves lose Game 1.
Mighty

wolves are NOT the best team in the league. if we go record wise - that was indy. i ask you this:

if LA was healthy all season long - do you still think minny would have the #1 seed in the WC? me, neither! look - we know LA came to play during the regular season about 50% of the time (and that might be a tad high) and even with that - and all their injuries - they only finished TWO games behind minny in the standings.

this is still uncharted territory for the wolves - not the lakers.

i see shotgun wants to bet the team with the best player in the league. great - but betting the wolves won't be that team.

the best player in the league is Shaq or Kobe. shaq is most dominant at least.

i ask all wolves backers this ?

WHO is gonna play shaq on defense? the wolves have 4 stiff at center - NONE OF THEM have a prayer against shaq. NONE! this is his time of the year - and he will show it.

for those who think there is value with the wolves around +300, in all honesty, this is still a cheap price on the lakers who will do to the wolves the same thing they will do to the WNBA champ in the finals - tear thru them in no more than 6 - and most likely less than that (if Indy wins the wnba and plays the lakers - the series goes 5 - AT MOST!)

lakers smell blood now - and the wolves are bleeding. or at least will be after friday and sunday's games. i stand by my thoughts that minny enters this game tired and even flat after beating the kings wednesday. it looked to me like the timberpuppies thought they won the NBA title after beating he kings - when in reality they were boxers hanging on for dear life in the 12th round. if the kings weren't so stupid and big time choke artists - they win G7 and the series. lakers aren't stupid and aren't chokers.

when the lakers come to play - they are so far and away the best team in the league whoever is #2 (and it sure as hell ain't indy - my guess is the spurs) is an after thought.

lakers/spurs was for the nba championship. lakers won that series and will EASILY win the next 2.

look - we go thru this almost every year at this time and every year it is the same thing - and this year will be NO different.

Lakers EASILY in Game 1

and even EASIER to win the series!

it won't shock me to see lakers sweep this series.

i agree with others here, surf.

no need to call anyone an idiot - for it only makes you look like one. it also increases the chance of this thread being sent to the rubber room - and we DON'T want that!

they are entitled to their opinions w/o us belittling them for it.

we may laugh at what they have to say - but we don't need to insult them. once everyone here sees how this series plays out - and what people who liked the wolves had to say - their posts will be laughed at as is.

and like you - i hope this post stays open all series long. it is a rather lively one.

Minnesota has four players - Ervin Johnson, Michael Olowokandi, Mark Madsen and Oliver Miller - and 24 fouls with which to try and stop O'Neal. Hack a Shaq. Minnesota's Big Three of Garnett, Cassell and Sprewell will have to do most of the scoring as usual. Defensive-stopper Trenton Hassell, Fred Hoiberg and maybe even Sprewell will spend time on Bryant. The matchup involving Malone and Garnett will be one of the highlights of the series while Cassell and Payton, teammates for part of last season with Milwaukee, will lock horns at the point guard position. I don't see KG having much trouble with an aged Mailman. Don't forget the Lakers are four tenths of a second from being in game 7 vs the Spurs themselves. Sure its easy to say Lakers this and Lakers that, but they still have to play the games. Lets see what the series looks like after game one.

Sam Cassell is an idiot.

I would of picked the Wolves if.....

1. Sam Cassell didnt open his mouth last series against the Kings, talking crap about how he can get anywhere on the court.

2. Sam Cassell's ignorance even lowers because he made that statement with a bad back.

Gary Payton stops him, Garnett gets his share..But not enough, what else is new?

Question for MightyVol..... Have you seen any NBA games this year or are you just going by the standings you read in the newspaper?
Based on your comments about the TWolves being the best team it is obvious at least that you haven't seen any of the playoffs this season.

The T-Wolves had the easiest possible path to this point, which is deserved since they indeed earned it with the best record. They beat the Nuggets who had no prayer vs any of the tops western teams. Then they beat at borken down Kings team that was a shell of the former selves. And barely at that.

The Lakers and Spurs are easily the two best teams in the entire league, with about 5 teams in the next level of inw hich the Wolves belong. Lakers will win the series easy, if it goes even 6 games it will likely be cause the Lakers took a night off. The SPurs would have handled Minn easily as well.

plus the wolves can steal gm 4 since espn reports kobe will likely miss the game. plus only 1 day between every single game? i got the feeling the older LA team doesnt particullary care for that. . there are all kinds of things working for the t'wolves here.

I'll start off by saying that I haven't really been a fan of Minnesota this year.Something about this team though. It's like the Marlins winning the World Series last year.My gut feeling is this team is destined to win it all this year.Ok now you can call me crazy.

Its almost showtime boys. Good luck bettin the Los Angeless Lakers tonight. I have already bet the Wolves +2 1/2. I tried to do you all a favor in here leading up to this game. I must admit i know absolutly nothing about basketball. I just bet on gut feeling.Thats what some of you believe.I never said i was the prognosticator of the year, like some may soo desire. My gut feeling is Wolves will win the game tonight and Wolves will win the series. If you cant handle my opinion thats your problem.

Good Luck

Mightyvol

P.S Lets not all get pissed off at one another, thats what makes this thread soo great. Big deal if i disagree with Winky. I dont expect everyone to agree with me. Lets keep it real and hope for an entertaining series.
