What is up with these holy rollers and their rapey pastors?
The Tennessean reports that the Gallatin, Tenn. Police arrested Roy Neal Yoakem, pastor at the New Gospel Outreach Church in Scottsdale, Ky., for raping a 14-year-old boy in his congregation. Yoakem allegedly assaulted the boy once at church and once in at this pastor of disaster’s home in Gallatin.
The police department told reporters Yoakem is in jail and faces four charges: Aggravated statutory rape, sexual battery by an authority figure, statutory rape by an authority figure, and fugitive from justice.
Wait, what do they mean Yoakem’s a “fugitive from Justice?” It turns out, this isn’t the first time Yoakem has assaulted and raped underage boys.
Yoakem’s on record as a convicted sex offender whose rap sheet includes a 2005 conviction for the secondary sexual assault of an eight-year-old boy. He is a registered sex offender in Gallatin, Tenn. — where he has an address – but not in the state of Kentucky.
Gallatin Police Department spokesman Bill Storment told reporters that Yoakem had registered as a sex offender in Tennessee, but also should have done so in Kentucky.
“If (a convicted sex offender) has a secondary address or if they spend a certain amount of time a month in the state, they have to register here. So, his primary residence is in Kentucky, but the Gallatin residence is considered his secondary address.”
Naturally, New Gospel Outreach Church’s Interim Pastor Stephen Bratcher told
Fox 17, WZTV that he’s shocked,
shocked, I tell you. The church
knew about the conviction when it hired Yoakem, but claims it had determined the accusations had been false.
“Kentucky State Police was contacted, Kentucky Attorney General’s Office was contacted, you know, about the legality, and they — the troopers over at the Bolling Green post — said that they contacted the sex offenders branch, and they said there’s nothing illegal about it.”
Nothing illegal about raping children? When you routinely work with children in a religious capacity as an authority figure? Really?
Bratcher added that he’s “not in a position to judge anyone,” and later
told WBKO he’s okay with raping children, as long as God has “forgiven” you.
“We’re firm believers in the Bible so if God’s forgiven you, then we’re in no position to treat you otherwise.”
Wow, who knew these evangelical churches could be so loosey-goosey and non-judgmental? First the New Gospel Outreach Church allows gay pedophile sex, next thing you know, they’ll start having animal sex orgies during services! It’s a slippery slope.

[h=2]The rapey pastor Yoakem plot sickens thickens.[/h] Oh, and guess what? The rapey pastor plot thickens.
WBKO adds that Yoakem used an “electronic system to lure a minor,” and that detectives suspect there may have been even
more victims.
Bratcher praises Yoakem as “a faithful, dedicated pastor to the church. He’s worked hard. He’s worked at the church with no salary.” Allen County Sheriff’s Department Detective Chad Keen says he’s evil and belongs behind bars.
“He’s a predator and he doesn’t need to be on the street. I’m glad we got him.”
The detective added that the 14-year-old boy’s mother — who goes to the church — notified police when she noticed a drastic change in her son’s behavior and saw inappropriately intimate and graphic messages and photos on his cell phone.
“They were along the lines of really, really affectionate. There was some emotion in them. He was calling him a liar and telling him he didn’t have any feelings for him anymore.”
Keen also told reporters he also discovered a 2003 conviction in Warren County, and heard from a third victim in Bowling Green, Ky. Because Yoakem committed offenses across state lines, he could be tried in a federal court.
As an upchuck-worthy end note, Yoakem has a wife and 14-year-old son who live with him in Gallatin, Tenn.
