Before we had any information about the horrors that were transpiring in a Colorado Planned Parenthood, right-wing conservatives were chomping at the bit to frame this as anything but what it obviously was – a terrorist attack by a white Christian extremist. The false narrative that FOX News and the Republican echo chamber has gone with is that the attack was a “bank robbery” gone wrong, and conservative social media began lambasting the left for “assuming” that a man shooting up a Planned Parenthood was a domestic terrorist.
First, from the atrocious hate-rag known as Breibart:
However, as the situation developed, CHASE Bank sent out a tweet confirming that the shooting did not take place in one of their banks:
‘
Then, police spokeswoman Lt. Catherine Buckely declared held a press conference where she announced that“gunshots were first reported at the Planned Parenthood clinic at 11.38am local time”, and that he “had brought several suspicious items to the clinic, and investigators were trying to determine whether they were explosives.”
It is absolutely despicable how the right-wing suddenly changes their tune because as comedian John Fugelsang put it,“they don’t mind this kind of terrorism.” The right-wing inspires this kind of violence with the same vitriol and graphic hyperbole that Daesh (ISIS/ISIL) does. Their relentless propaganda campaigns depicting the beloved women’s healthcare provider as harvesting organs and the fake videos they created to accompany it plants the seed of this kind of violence, and their knee-jerk attempts to deflect blame from themselves and on to the left is abhorrent. Even more heinous was the outpouring of unabashed support for the shooter:
The American Taliban is alive and well. Do you think they’ll be calling for moderate pro-lifers to condemn the attacks, as they do to Muslims? Do you think they’ll be calling for a database of disturbed white men, as they do to Muslims? Do you think they’ll begin spinning wild tales of a war on police by white Christians? Where’s your #BlueLivesMatter now?Four cops were shot, one dead, and not a single Republican presidential candidate has issued a statement – no condolences, no calls for prayer. Their silence is implicit approval – and why wouldn’t they? They provoke this kind of terrorism in our nation, and their hypocrisy is revolting.

Fox News Channel and The Gazette report witness accounts that claim the shooting at the Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood clinic actually began at a nearby Chase Bank location.
Fox News talked on-air to a witness at a nail salon near the Planned Parenthood clinic who “first thought [the incident] was a bank robbery.” Cell phone video captured by the witness appeared to show a Chase Bank branch as the first location where law enforcement moved in.
