C'mon, where are all the old school cappers. Those that were capping the Woody Hayes games when he was at Ohio St., or the Paul Bryant games. How about also them guys who capped games when Vince Lambordi was coaching. C'mon guys , you gotta represent your age group. So far no one showed up for the 60 and over group.

I don't post much here anymore but every once in a while I sneak a peek ! I've been around to watch the Vince Lombardi coached Packers win about 5 NFL championships ! I watched Mickey Mantle and Yogi dominate Baseball until a guy by the name of Koufax came along. I saw the San Francisco Dons win 2 NCAA Championships led by Bill russell. I saw the Oregon State Beavers led by 7 ft. 3 in. Wade Swede Holbrook almost beat the Dons having the ball trailing by 1 point and having 2 missed shots before losing 57-56 in the Western Regionals in 1955. I watched most of these sporting events on black and white TV's ! Sorry but I missed the Oregon tall firs as they were known back then claim the NCAA basketball championship in 1939. How old am I ? Hint .... I'm old enough to drink, vote and gamble !

Yeah Sparty I do, great team had Beard & Groza I believe. Also remember when CCNY won both the NCAA & NIT when that tourney meant something. So pissed when Lujack & Co. tied Army, I loved Doc & Glen. This pussy Woods could take lessons in courage & what an injury really means from the great Ben Hogan.

Yes they are so many great players and teams that many of the youngsters have never seen play. Elgin Baylor played for little Seattle and led them to the Championship game where they lost to Kentucky. He averaged over 31 points over his college career and led the nation in rebounding as I recall. In his prime, He was a joy to watch ! Bart Starr of the Green Bay Packers is another one of those greats that always gets overlooked because 3 of his 5 National championships came just prior to them changing the name from NFL Championship to Super Bowl Championship. It's as though they didn't happen ! I recall John Wooden's first Championship when He won with guys like gail goodrich, Walt Hazzard and a 6 ft. 5 In. Center whose name was Patterson I think. Mr Wooden would always sit on the bench and his biggest sign of emotion was rolling up his program tightly. I had the pleasure of meeting him in Seattle after UCLA's last Championship in Seattle. My age ..... Well I'm 73.

and kermit16 best wishes to you Sir! As I stated earlier in the thread I am 62, but have much in common. I used to spend lots of time traveling to Vegas about ten years ago and earlier. When books and table games would take more "real" action. May have seen you around and did not realize.
