Yup and one of the main reasons the country is going to shit........

Not all unions are bad. You can't generalize them all in one category.

You are right sorry to generalize them all into one but I have a strong distaste for them and wish some the them would wake up and smell the coffee before it is to late.

I get the whole summer off, a month in winter and week long breaks in between.

I teach.

Got to love the HPOU.<><>

11 paid holidays
6 weeks of vacation
10 days of pft which can be used for training or time off
1 floating holiday

The best part everything can be carried over from year to year and when you retire they will pay you for everything.

One week/year. Other one taken away. No sick days, no paid holidays. Haven't taken a vacation in eight years since no one wants to cover for me (only three of us). Not worth the hassle.

One day every two weeks.
96 hours sick a year. If you
don't use your sick time you
get paid for it in January.
Holidays, well lets just say
Columbus Day is one.

i work for myself so i can take as much as i want. however when i go away, i don't earn a penny, bc all the work goes to my covering doctor. in general, i take 3-4 weeks. enough to relax, but not lose too much $. as i get older, i'll prolly take more.
