I go to in a sports bar, you have fantasy geeks not sports bettors. I cant stand poker players, especially the ones that started playhing after 2002, I sit down with 9 of them I probably hate 6 of them, have little to nothing in common with them, they think they are slick but there not.

One thing I will hand to the East Coast is they are more sportsbettors, It is hard for me to stomach going into a sportsbar out here and having these fantasy geeks clap and yell every time some guy makes a catch.

Show me a fantasay geek and Ill show you someone who doesnt know what the hell sports is about.

I'm making a list of the people or things you hate:

1) Anyone who attends motor sports events
2) Fantasy players

I have a feeling this list is going to get very, very long judging by how much of an arrogant prick you come off as in every single one of your posts.

I go to motor sports I root for crashes, it is not a sport.

As for VD, he has zero talent, it was fun watching Warner shread his pile of shit city apart. Fantasy sports is for casual fans who dont understand how to handicap. Its is checkers vs chess.

I bet most do both, and many have no desire to gamble

That is very well said Rail. I disagree with the fantasy part like VD said though. High stakes fantasy has been very profitbale for me as well over the years....theres really two types of fantasy players IMO high stakes guys who view it as solid investments and the casual guy who does it for fun & screams in the bar. I bet and play high stakes fantasy, and yet never yell a word out in a bar ever (I have this forum to do my bitching....lol). Yet you have guys jumping up and down because their fantasy WR in their $50 league caught a pass for 8 yards in some randon 1PM Sunday game....its sickening. It makes it worse when you have money on a game and guys are cheering for pass completions.

What would you guess the number at?

Sportsbetting AND poker combined.

Thanks

Getting back to the subject, I think it is less than 1 per cent....the masses still do not know what offshore is, but it is growing every year...If the government ever decides to make it legal and figure out a way to tax it, you will see a boom that would beat your socks off...

He has no talent but kicked your ass. Where does that put you on the food chain, Rail?

I agree with everything you are saying. In fact a lot of the people I speak too are as clueless today as they were back 5+ years ago when I told them I bet offshore. The only thing that has really changed is my answer to them isnt as confident as it was a few years back with all the negative changes the industry has went thru.

Do you ever really think there will be a day that sportsbetting will be legalized in United States and you can wake up place a bet on your computer? I wished I could say yes but I dont see it. The only hope we have is if they let us bet over the internet with all the sportsbooks in Vegas, which I still think is years and years away. What do you think?

American government is too greedy and clueless to ever let this happen...there are tons of walk up sportsbooks in the world, but none in the USA except for Vegas...might happen, but not in the next twenty years or so...

The church doesn't need the competition....

Interesting question now that Aportsbooks are up and running all over the US :)
Without the ability to bet on college sports in most states there is more than there is ever been. States that had nary any price per head shops operating in their states now have more than most states that were well oiled with them.

People will go where they can get everything avaliable whether they want it or not. The best thing to happen to the offshores is sportsbetting becoming legal in the U.S.

There are more not so secret back door partnerships shrouded in legal enough sounding language than the operators behind it know what to do with.
