First time I went I was 24. I was in a car accident. An old lady pulled out in front of me and I hit her. I went to lawyer and he sent me to his chiropractor. Dr said yeah you're out of wack. $2500 later in visits I was cured. Lawyer got 3k Chiropractor 3k and me 3k. Next time I went was a year ago for no other reason than just to do it. Popped my back and neck which felt good, but nothing more than popping bones. Maybe they are good if you have something out of place? Idk. Seems like a waste of time to me.
glad you got some help from the accident. i'll respond later when i get a chance in more detail. the gen pop is fairly ignorant to the skills a chiropractor has. most think it's purely moving bones. i can explain why moving bones in the first place is beneficial, but i'm more interested in moving joints that are lacking normal motion. those joints not moving fluently are going to cause a reaction elsewhere, also. that's more preventative care in nature. injuries, PT, graston (as someone mentioned before, might've been you), electro-diagnosis, etc etc. chiropractic has evolved, but the baby boomer population will never believe it because older chiros that they've seen were very limited in treatment options. only lacking aspect is pharmacology - there has been talk about adding it into chiropractic curriculums, which i don't like, but it would practically make MD's obsolete.
