That's what worked for me. Started out walking the dog every morning which gradually turned into a 5 mile run with the dog. I feel for guys that are working 10-12 hour days in high stress positions and have children to top it off. That used to be me and it was tough to make time for your health.

That's me. I'm asked to do 10 hours of work in 7.5 hrs. And then have to explain to my boss I did't get it done because it's not physically possible. The thing is, though, that I wouldn't have it any other way. Caffeine in the day, alprazolam at night. At some point it'll catch up to me. I'm just not wired for it.

I probably sleep six to seven hours per night on average, but I am eight months pregnant and up and down to the bathroom at least every hour and a half. I figure it is just practice for the long, sleepless nights ahead. :)

About 6 or 7. Used to have to either take NyQuil or drink every night to get a good nights sleep.

I cant sleep right now ughhhhh ! Went to sleep early around ten and have been up since 2. Booze is such a double edge sword for me. It helps me get to sleep which is always hard but then i wake up after just a few hours. When i dont drink which is most of the time i cant get to sleep. I am stressing and have been grinding my teeth so bad they all hurt. I wear a rubber mouth piece kind of like the football ones most nights when i notice that i am grinding. Sleep problems run in my family and my dad has been addicted to sleeping pills for 30 + years. He takes em every night and still doesnt sleep. Ambien was really bad for him and he had to stop because he was doing stuff without remembering. I get a good night sleep maybe once or twice a week.

Have you tried what I posted in post #18?

You can't do it have assed. You have to go all in with it.

Unless you have some sort of other serious medical condition, I would all but guarantee that you would sleep better.

One thing i have done is try to not take any sleep aids or prescription sleeping pills. And i dont do sodas . Another thing that helps is i eat a yogurt before bed

Maybe 6 hours. I don't trust the fitbit thing. All that really detects is arm movement. You could be wide awake with your arm completely still.

I took a sleep apnea study at home where they send you a mask. I have sleep apnea and need a mask to supposedly sleep well. Have never used it though.

Use it. Guarantee you will sleep better and feel much more refreshed in the morning. Been using one for 2 years now and what a difference.

I probably average in the 6's too. Def trying to get more. I have found that if you eat healthier you will sleep so much better and feel a lot more refreshed when you wake up. Sleep is when your body focuses on healing and recovery. Very important to health and longevity. Doesnt sounds like fun but try drinking a glass of fresh veggie juice over ice every night an hour before bed in a bath with some epsom salt or something and you will sleep like a baby and feel great. Bad diet + stress/lack of sleep and lack of exercise cause most modern health issues...our bodies evolved over millions of years...then all of the sudden we start chowing down doritos and slamming red bulls every day and wonder why our bodies don't run like finely tuned machines. I am 100% guilty of it too, but always trying to improve in these areas. Just my 2 cents.

I agree with DNoonan on the food you eat. Spicy food nightmares and heartburn sleep sucks ! I eat a yogurt about 2 hours before i go to sleep and it seems to coat the stomach and gets some good cultures in me for sleep. Last night was brutal! Ate london broil too late and had beers and a couple shots. Been up since 2 am

Great for muscle and joint pain and is rich in melatonin making it an excellent sleep aid. 2 tablespoons every night. It works.
