My Story Shortly...I was there Easter Sunday-Wednesday Evening....Not at The Casino The whole Time, but in Cherokee, NC!

they use to have a beatable BJ machine, but changed the rules, and decks, no longer beatalbe. other than that, no realy reason to go. nothing out there.

I went there last Summer....The cigarette smoke was unreal and I lost 200 clams...and valet parking took 20 minutes to find the car....other than that it was great. Good place to pay your American Indian reparations.

I've been 6 Times.........

1st Visit, walked up to a "Pot of Gold" Machine, inserted a $20, decided to play SuperBall Keno. 1st push of the button....hit 6 out of 8 Numbers, w/ The SuperBall, betting $1, won $400! Got up, and left! That was when they 1st opened.
2nd Visit...Lost My A$$!
3rd..........DITTO
4th..........DITTO
5th..........DITTO

My 6th Visit came this past Monday Night............oh it sucked!
My wife is a school nurse, and my daughter is in The 2nd Grade...they were both out of school this week for Spring Break, so we decided to leave Easter Morning and go to Cherokee for a few days. We drove up, about a 3 hour ride from home, and found a Very Nice Cabin on The River for $35 a Night...can't beat that. So we got the cabin for 3 Nights, and thought we would hang out in Cherokee/Maggie Valley and have a nice Family Vacation for Spring Break!
My Wife, like most, is Not Very Fond of Gambling, but she told me to go ahead and take $100 and I could go over To Harrah's once they went to bed Monday Night. So around, 1:00AM....I left..like .5 mile down the road & I was there. Walked in and the place is usually packed, but not Monday Night. Really empty...I'm not Big on BlackJack, or Tables, not even Slots, so I headed straight to The SuperBall Keno, where you Pick 2-10 Numbers, and The numbers come out & if you get The last Ball, The SuperBall to Bounce on one of your numbers, you win 4X your winnings!
1ST Roll.............betting $2 a Roll.....Hit 5 Numbers...$108 Win...next Roll...4 Numbers w/ The Bounce....$164 Win...should have Cashed Out & Left.......
Long Story, but to make it a Bit Shorter.......Remember, I only had $100 Cash...but I did have My Debit Card, and Our Joint Account Debit Card....Hours Later, and no more good hits.....My Cell Phone rings, and my wife says, "Phil, where The F%#K are you!??!?!", I Reply, "I'm still at Harrahs Honey!....What Time is It?" She says, "Have you won anything?" I said,"No!" She Said,"Well It's 10:00AM....get your ASS Back To The Cabin!!!!!!"
I left a few minutes later.....Lost $100 CASH & $1600 off of The 2 Debit Cards! When I got in, she was showered, dressed and ready to go on some All-Day 8 Hour Smoky Mountain Train Ride!
I was tired & didn't want to go, but did! Man, was I burnt out!
On the Train Ride, she says, "well you did make that $100 last 9 Hours, and I know you had fun!" I simply said, "Yeah Honey...I did, Thanks For Letting Me GO!"

when I was there it was all video and noone at my table won a thing. I drove from Morristown Tennessee to play so it was a 4 hour round trip and it was so boring and topped it off with dropping those Indians a nickel

whats the difference playing there or online crackjack? video can be manipulated easy.

No live dealers but they do have Digital BJ were a dealer pushes the buttons and you use real chips went last month won about a Grand and hit the damn road.

They say they have a Poker room on the way, never seen any Hookers
and its a Dry town so you better be plasterd when you hit the door.

It is wayyyyy better than it used to be.
Last time I went was last year when we went to the Braves games and then for a couple nights in Cherokee.

Going to do the same this year, probably in Aug.


Casino food is ALWAYS overpriced, but they have a tremendous little Chinese/Asian hole in the wall restaurant that stays busy.
I give it top ratings for a Casino joint, we ate there 3 times because we didnt feel like leaving the resort.....this time though I want to try out a couple local restaurants

They got the new hotel, pretty solid sports book and much larger poker room.

Clean, smoke free environment. Don't play slots but from what I see and hear, they have some of the best in the industry. Table games are pretty decent with plenty of options. Black jack tables with a $25 minimum offer 3:2, everything else is more favorable to the house. There may be a few tables with a $10 minimum but the wait for those tables is long and the play is slow. 80% of the tables have a minimum $15 play.

Entertainment is ok, they draw some pretty decent concerts. No problem with parking, plenty available. Food and drinks are pricey but not outrageous. Harrah's Cherokee is Harrah's most profitable casino in the country. It is in the middle of nowhere but they spend a boatload of money on constant upgrades and improvements. Sportsbook is above average. Online wagering in NC goes live on March 11 and they are approved but not sure how it will be connected, no one seems to be able to explain the details.

You ever go to any non casino restaurants nearby?

Not really. I live in Asheville so we will usually either eat before we go or hit the casino restaurants. There is a place about 1/4 mile from the casino called Granny's Kitchen. It's a buffet with a strictly country, southern menu. I've eaten there a few times, not bad at all and usually very crowded. The tribe controls what comes and goes so there are a lot of fast food chains close by. Not many healthy options
