It's a common misconcepttion that it played a role in the pres election...it didn't....had pretty much zero impact on it. Why people think that is beyond me. Even some liberals think it somehow helped and it really didn't. The outcome and margin of victory would have remain unchanged if sandy hadn't occured.

Because it changed no states from red to blue. When you looked at the election, there was about 6 or 7 states that were even in question. New jersey certainly wasn't one of them. The states in question were won by obamas ground game, which is the best in the history of our country. He may have gotten a small bump from it but there were other factors trending obamas numbers at that time. I feel confident saying that nobody or very, very few went into the voting booth aand said" I like the way obama shook christies hand, he got my vote".
It really is a myth about sandy. The people that put obama over the top in the key states of fllor and ohio...did not do so because of a hurricane at the jersey shore.
All good man, was mostly joking around. Even if it had been meant that way, I certainly give it out, so I have to be willing to take it back. Your post made some good points. The only reason I think it may have helped him slightly is it gave him a chance to look Presidential and bipartisan. No matter what I'd have to agree with you that it certainly did not swing any individual state.
