rainbow....as long as you both are flexible with each other as both of you will have certain things you want to do and the other won't like ..for example gambling or whatever..

You both have to let each other do those things IMO..

I don't think it is that difficult if:

1) You told her you gambled before you got married.

2) You generally either a) do it for a living or b) do it as a hobby that does not impact your (her) standard of living.

3) You are directionally truthful about the level of action.

I haven't been married long enough for it to be considered a success BUT so far my gambling has had little impact on my marriage using those three things above.

I know one thing for sure I dont have to hide my money from her like other women I had in the past. I put the whole deck of cards on the table before we got married. I told her about my past, I didnt hide nothing. thats the only way to go is be 100% honest. I had many relationships in the past where I had to hide my gambling. sooner are later it catches up with you. I am not compulsive like I once was. I do a good job managing my money, it took me along time to adjust to that. I dont go to bed at night anymore and wonder where can I get money to gamble the next day, because before I didnt know the value of a dollar. I am the happiest I"ve been in my life since I decided to get married.

You need to have a good women that is understanding. At times it will be diffcult. You have to ask yourself why you're gambling? Do women like players?

On an average NFL Sunday I spend anywhere from 7 to 10 hrs capping the games and all the other good stuff invovled. I am a dog player and in general betting dogs LATE is the way to go. So Sunday is my day to work. Doing this everyday along with a "regular" job (if you have one), wife and kids is very hard.

My cook read some of this stuff last night. I brought this thread up to her and she said "it appears all your bills are paid so what business is it of mine?"

If gambling becomes an addiction I can see divorce happening but not for the occasional participation or controlled setting most of us share. My wife actually gambles more then me. I hate gambling. You ask why then do you post and pay attention to this site? Im hopeing the information that I recieve or study takes out the gambling factor and puts the odds in my favor.

life is a game that some people play without rules and others set the rules to win....
