Bama is really, really good. But conversely, the SEC as a whole is really, really bad. In years past, I don't think you'd see "top-tier" teams getting beat on their home turf 49-10. I think teams like Tenn, UF, UGa are not really good and when they play Bama they really get exposed. But Bama is really, really good.
There is no QB talent in the SEC. Take the talent of Tenn, and add a QB like Luke Falk of WSU, or Baker Mayfield, or Davis Webb and the team would be really good. I'm not sold on Dobbs, or Del Rio, or whoever LSU wants to roll out. I like the kid at Ole Miss, but he's a knucklehead. For all the talent on the lines of scrimmage, and at the skill positions, I see much better QB play on Friday nights here in Texas. Which BTW where Bama got their QB from. Channelview, TX.

Anyone that follows the SEC closely and unbiased will tell you the SEC East has been down for some time. Tenner was way over hyped this year.

Bama is by far number one, A&M is obviously number 2 and ripe for their usually second half collapse but until then solid number 2. Then after this weekend even trying to remove my bias at this point you have to put Arkansas as the number 3 team in the league and they will play every team you can put in the argument to knock them out of number 3 in the SEC. We've seen it all the way back to 2009 or 10 that the SEC W is the most competitive division in all of college football and they are pretty much responsible for the fame that the SEC gets ever since Tebow left Florida.

maybe one of these years the SEC East will decide to win a SEC Title Game again.................It took Urban Meyer to get the last one and like you said that was awhile back..............Before you could blame Kentucky and Vanderbilt each year...........Missouri, South Carolina, and Georgia all with 1st year coaches so they need some time and down this year......Florida and Tennessee are good, not great....I have six teams in the SEC West with a higher power rating than both of them

Bama covered the game based on scores from the TO's and special teams alone. The Bama offense could have stayed in T'town last week.
that was 4th game that Bama defense and special teams outscored opponent. USC 7-6, Tenn 14-10, Kent st 7-0, UK 7-6. WKU scored a TD with :46 left otherwise that would be a 5th game

Georgia and Tenner are prolly the one two that can really rise up. Tenner won't do it under coaching staff, that staff has shown tenner can recruit with the upper echelons but they can not coach. He is almost putting himself on the plateau Les Miles was on later in his time as LSU, getting studs all over the field and leaving an under performing can't make good decision QB on the field. But Tenner is also having issues elsewhere.

Georgia picked a failure of an OC to work with that immensely talented QB. That QB under a pro style coach would just be tearing it up and keeping it balanced with that back field. Georgia is always known for having that one NFL type receiver too and some how they don't have it. Kirby Smart may prove to be a good coach, but he is going ot have to get away from Chaney and maybe even Pittman at O line coach.

Giving Alabama the eye-test, that defense really does look NFL-like. Even when they give up a long yardage play, it seems their opponents either barely squeeze in a pass, or make a great play of some kind. The margin for error against their D is so freaking small, it's ridiculous. Watch offensive linemen or backs block them, and it's often a complete mismatch. Though their offense shines at times, I don't think it's anything exceptional by top 10 standards. It also benefits from good field position and knowing its defense will not give up many points.

I think in comparison to every other 2016 NCAA team, they are head and shoulders above everyone. Someone hit it on the head earlier saying only Bama can beat Bama and that's right. They have it all working, blowing out teams that they are playing. I mean, maybe not the most talented but maybe that works into their favor and coaches are getting the most out of them unlike maybe some of their more talented players in the past who didn't work as hard...no one in particular but this might be one of the better coaching jobs in the recent years at bama. its just mind blowing the margins on these games. sorry if I repeated some of the other posts, just wanted to add to and didn't have time to read them all

Reading some of the posts in the thread and my mind went back to the Alabama route of ND in the championship game. We may see another one of those this year as there is no team in the same class as Alabama. Players and Coaches are at a different level.

I have had some fun here with saban/meyer chatter but there is no comparison as i sit here and type this. Urban Meyer is definitely the second best in the country but Saban is at another level. His wisdom is at another level.. I do wish he was a little better with discipline but that is his prerogative.

Alabama fans are experiencing something the rest of us never will... One day he will retire to his Castle at the lake, how would you like to be the guy replacing him?

Enjoy the ride Bama fans !

How could you not be sold on Alabama? They are in the picture every year. They do things no other program can.

Over the long years, I have sensed that you can tell the fortunes of a college football team by the looks on their female fans (and cheerleaders) faces. Now, and during the past several years, the women that back and cheer for the Crimson Tide have been like a brilliantly glowing ember during the height of the noon-day sun.

When you have the gals chanting and cheering with vigor and enthusiasm because of their teams winning ways, the men-folk have it made. Just ask how the husbands and boyfriends (and the coaches) make-out after a 49-14 blow-out win in Knoxville. The ride home and night-fall experiences usually result in a pleasant ending.

Alabama is riding the surf during "high-tide" as we speak (pun intended).

I'm in the minority here. Not sold on Bama at all.

Being a barner it pains me to disagree with you. Ray Charles can see bama is the most talented team in the country.

With that said, bama is not some kind of unbeatable, indestructible force others have described in this thread. While their defense is solid against the run and very opportunist, it has deficiencies. Bama gave up over 400 passing yards (> 500 total yards) to a 3 and 3 Ole Miss team and 400 passing yards (> 470 total yards) to a very mediocre Arkansas team. Great defensive teams don't give up those kinda yards to very average teams.

Bama will be a huge favorite against anyone they play this year - regular season and playoffs. But that doesn't mean they can't be beat. Saban is a very good coach (great recruiter) but he doesn't beat teams with his in-game adjustments. He wins with talent. Unfortunately for bama, the more talented team doesn't always win. And, as history has proven numerous times, bama is a very beatable team if the game is close in the 4th.

I don't see anyone in the SEC beating bama, but the playoffs are a completely different animal. I'm not betting against bama winning it all, but I'm also not conceding them the championship at this time. Lots of football left to play.
